  1. Cavitron. To get it ready, I tie it on.
  2. How is your situation anything like the OP? I recommend you leave your valuables all over public places, and see how that works out for you. Probably a better plan to get a small dry bag, put your stuff in it, and clip it to your belt. They're about $8 at most sporting goods stores. For the OP, a cragslist post and a note near the access site would be appropriate. If it was cash, you'd turn it in to the police. In either case, after a couple weeks of not hearing anything, it's yours.
  3. Bass behavior in an enclosed aquarium sets up one possible set of behavior traits based on environment, certainly not all.
  4. http://bit.ly/1DlGZM9 Here's a couple sites I found quickly.... http://www.oldreels.com/original_bantams.htm http://fishinglurecollectibles.net/Vintage_Shimano_Fishing_Reels.html
  5. I put the receipt in the box, and it goes into storage. I do this for anything with a warranty, that I care about. I routinely purge the boxes in my attic.
  6. From the Forum Rules and FAQs:
  7. Perfect Solution does a better job. Alcohol works okay, especially for previously cleaned bearings that aren't super dirty.
  8. The only thing that's "wrong" is not poking the worm dead center, or getting too much meat on the hook. That will lead to twisting and poor hookups, but even then you'll still get bit.
  9. I think we're done here.
  10. Or you can just hit alt-print screen, lol.
  11. Great idea to try both. Some guys love the braid and line in deep water, I don't I don't think there's a huge difference in the catching. I like simplicity of straight fluoro, and it works for me. I will say, as soon as I get into anything more than a hint of weeds, I switch from the light fluoro to the braid/leader rig. Good luck man, and report back how it goes.
  12. I've always felt that the "bite moved more than the fish." To say, there is usually fish in the fishy spots, but that don't all turn on at once.
  13. It's preference. Flat side up for me, only because I *think* the bass are looking up at the bait.
  14. Why not just take a screen shot? seems easier than digging out your phone to take a pic.
  15. Sharing and moderation are not in my drinking vocabulary, lol.
  16. Hmmm....that never happens to anyone here, lol.
  17. I just use a pad and pen.
  18. Sounds like a souped up baby bass pattern. I've seen similar baits from many companies, though not with the sparkles. I'd throw it!
  19. Sent you a PM. I'll just say I had the capacity to drink heavier than most on occasion, lol.
  20. It really depends on the bait, conditions and situation. I have five rods dedicated to it. The one I grab the most (actually have two of it) for general deep, open water is an Avid - AVS63MLXF.
  21. It's been 349 days since my last drink.
  22. All line is "tricky" if you don't have the reel setup properly. Personally, I fear a braid backlash or a wind knot on a spinning reel more than anything else. There's also an art to fixing a backlash. It's a gentle process, and there's usually only one or two overun loops that causing the mess. Don't yank on the line, carefully unwind it. For setting up the reel, there's plenty of videos and articles for beginners on our pages: http://www.bassresource.com/how-to-fish/ http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/how-to-cast-baitcast.html
  23. I think there's definitely something to it, on a larger scale, but I think localized behavior may be too hit and miss to rely on for per outing basis. I always look at this stuff in hindsight...I guess looking for something to blame poor results, lol. Pelagic trout.... I can tell you that northern strain largemouth follow pelagic alewife, especially in the Finger Lakes. Take the specific brand of baitfish and location out of the mix, and I don't believe it's exclusively a Fla. strain thing. It's too bad Rich Zaleski isn't up here. I'd like to hear what he has to say.
  24. I have to see it. I'm not fishing with a poop brown/pink sparkle senko, no matter what someone's catching on it
  25. I match line strength to cover present - NOT fish size. If you are breaking off from a fish - it's your drag, it's too tight. If the fish is leading you to cover, and breaking off, your tackle is too light. Let me break it down.... My dedicated, deep drop shot (light cover) rigs have no more than 6# fluoro. I've landed carp close to 20#, and several large drum, browns, and steelies on this line. Step up in cover, and step up in line and tackle. For moderate weeds, I move up to 15-20# braid, and an 8-12# fluoro leader. Again, set the drag for the weakest point in your system. If the cover is heavier, I'll step up to a casting rig, with 12-15# line. Super heavy cover, I'll bubba shot with my punching gear, and 65# braid, no leader.
