  1. THE MOST fragile? Not really. After a few dozen casts or a fish, I poke the hook through a fresh spot in the egg sac. They are much more durable than GY baits, and about on par with Ragetail. Though I hear people complain about those too.
  2. Give that little girl the dad she won't get any other way. Carlos and your ex will sink their own ships. And if they step up, all the better. Though they probably won't, and I wouldn't trust either of them as far as I could throw my car.
  3. Nothing exciting at all...keep moving, lol. It's definitely not recommended you use them on the flick shake/wacky jigs. Here's one that fell for one:
  4. If that doesn't do it, it's time for a whole new base and pedestal, lol.
  5. Wnybassman. Lake Erie, lol.
  6. I have a Dragonfly unit. It's great. Love the simplified contols.
  7. Both work all season long for me.
  8. PB Blaster and a pipe wrench should do the trick.
  9. The bait I don't have will never work, if I don't use it. In other words, but and use what like. Most of it works at point or another.
  10. Here's a pimp trike: color half your spool of braid with a marker. Now you have an alternating pattern that's easier to see. I don't know if it helps hide the line, bass in weeds don't seem to care.
  11. There should be some kind of fasteners behind the dash, and something under the finish caps you pointed out. To completely remove the intstrument panel, you'll have to take the teering wheel off, too. Though you can probably gently bend the panel to get the wires through, once the caps and fasteners are removed.
  12. It's just one of what seems like a thousand or so creature baits out there. Should work fine.
  13. Felix has the right idea. Toss something slow sinking, and dead stick it.
  14. There's a lunatic on Conesus, and a couple on Keuka that aren't too friendly, other than that, not really.
  15. At least it wasn't me. Last two tournaments, broke a rod at each.
  16. I do this for my trout and salmon baits. Makes release easier, and I can really swing on them when the attack. It also helps when putting the screws to a 15# plus fish without bending the trebles. With bass, it doesn't seem to be necessary. The hooks come out easily and the fish are more resilient than trout. If you try it, I recommend using two split rings instead of one. It helps with twisting leverage a fish can put on the bait to get free.
  17. Good grief, that is a slob, man! Nice work.
  18. Clayton and I took the kayaks to the swamp and beat up on the northerns. Nothing huge, but decent numbers, and good burgers after.
  19. I'll use 10# line, buts got to be a 4000 reel. For typical 2500 size bass reels, I don't go over 8#. Usually spool up with 6#.
  20. For me, it be an Alphas or PX form factor reel.
  21. Jointed jigs have been around for as long as I remember. The Jika Rig has pretty much replaced most of my Texas Rig fishing. None of these have been as remarkable as the Senko craze that started 20 years ago. Before that it was Slug-O. Everyone fished that thing. They still work, too.
  22. The key up there is to communicate. Say hello, ask how the guys are doing, and if they don't mind you slipping into a gap. Shoulder to shoulder is probably an exaggeration, though the well known holes get crowded, even during the later brown run. Watch how the guys around you are drifting, and follow the cadence. For the most part, there's fish for everyone, and when you hook up, everyone gets excited. Just don't be the guy with the UL and 4# line chasing a fish up and down the river to keep it from spooling you, lol. Everyone hates that guy. Have fun man, it's a blast.
  23. Pretty much all trebles I use are short shank hooks. Gammys are good hooks. I also use VMC Vanadium Inlines and Owner ST-36. The shorter hooks don't hang up as easily and don't tangle with each other. I also suspect the fish has less leverage to shake free once hooked.
