  1. LOL, if he's gonna run that far, I'll put him up, and we'll fish a Finger Lake, like Keuka.
  2. Two years ago, Boyd talked about spiral wrapped guides. They were testing them. I bet "John Q. Publc" didn't get it, and they won't be released. Who knows?
  3. 6 or 7 spinning 23 casting 1 spincast 1 underspin 2 centrepin 4 conventional w/levelwind 1 conventional w/out 2 linecounter trolling reels 3 flyrod I like them all, save the trolling gear - it was inherited. Each piece has a time and place. I wouldn't want to use a spincaster for steelhead in the winter, just like a centrepin is useless without current... Thay are all just tools. The longer I fish, the more I accumulate. Some stuff is just interesting to have - I don't really need it, but I enjoy having it.
  4. And clear across the state, lol.
  5. It's the only big lake in PA. You're welcome up here, but you don't have to sleep in the truck. Not sure what I can teach you that can't figure out yourself, but there's sure a lot of places to fish up here. Every day on the water is a learning process.
  6. My Bullet is nearly 22' long and has a plaque, that basicall reads that it's unrated for weight and unlimited for HP. No one I know that owns a Bullet has ever been turned away from any tournament.
  7. Go up to the navionics site, and scout your new lake online. Combine that with google earth, and pit a plan together. When you get on the water, you'll have confidence when a spot you picked out looks "fishy."
  8. Yes. Owner. I like the hook gap to be twice the width of the bait.
  9. I used to have confidence in fishing a Uni to Uni connection.... I'm pretty confident that it will break when I tie it now.
  10. Why is that stopping you? I'll fish all over, and way more than hour drive to try something new.

  12. I'll bet most are like me: I don't use micro guide rods when I use a heavy leader knot. When my leader gets down to less than a foot, I retie.
  13. Not setting the hook because I'm afraid to lose a 50¢ bait would drive me more nuts than anything else. Maybe try some Z- Man baits instead. Even if they don't work (they do, I use them) it won't matter if you're not setting the hook. Catch my drift? Set the hook man!
  14. I don't think visibility matters, in most cases - that's not why I use a leader. When I do think visibility matters, I use straight fluorocarbon.
  15. Yep, the diameters will be more closely matched, and therefore less chance of slipping. Though, I really feel an Alberto is FAR superior knot.
  16. How long do you reel up the bait before making a cast? Make your leader that long, if you don't want the knot passing through the guides.
  17. If you want to use this knot, and increase the diameter of thin braid to better match the leader, look up the spider hitch knot. It an easy knot that doubles up the braid. Diameter will serve you better than more wraps.
  18. None, I use a more secure Alberto Knot.
  19. There's a 1001 uses for a blade. I can't think of any off the top of my head, but when I forget it I sure can.

I use a Leverage Landing Net. While it's not as easy to use as the videos show, it works great and is compact.
  21. All I'll add is that I like to use the Water Gremlin Bull Shot weights.
  22. One of my favorite colors. Works everywhere.
  23. As long as the 3rd quarter team doesn't show up, they'll be fine. Even then, they showed discipline, and got back on track in the 4th.
  24. Aren't we all, lol.
