  1. I've had them too. They're good.
  2. Seems more like you against the world, sometimes. See, I have a sense of humor. No more personal attacks, guys. Thanks!
  3. Preparation H? Yuk. Now I've heard it all.
  4. In this order: 1. Walleye 2. Yellow Perch 3. Northern Pike Not a huge fan of trout or salmon, but I've been told the dime bright specimens I bring home for the grill or the smoker are outstanding.
  5. I just use big, old trolling reels.
  6. We'll all be thinking of you, man. Speedy recovery!
  7. "That little guy? Don't worry about that little guy."
  8. "Junk fishing" is probably one of the better plans for a co-angler/non boater. Pick four or five things you know you can do well, and apply them as the situation arises. I can't tell you how many times I caught fish out of the back of the boat on a drop shot off the deep side, only to back it up with another on a spinnerbait, shallow. I sometimes think the guy in the back actually covers more water than the guy up front, especially if they are a bank beater. I know now, as a boater, I always pay attention to the guy in the back, to see if they come up with something better than what I'm doing.
  9. Too many to count. The worst was last summer, when I skin hooked a fish on a High Power Herring. Fish spit the hook, and the bait came flying back at me. I though it missed me, but when I looked down, you guessed it - two points of the Owner ST-41 were buried in the side of my calf. I was alone, and nearly passed out getting it out, but dressed the would, and kept fishing.
  10. I generally start at about 15". If I'm "fishing in the cone," I can see on the graph whether fish are coming up to the bait, or hitting it from a suspended position. You can make your adjustment from there.
  11. Two words for you, Sam: Docks. Docks.
  12. I'm not a sponsor here, but I also run a reel repair business.
  13. Ever catch a yellow perch? They're basically an overgrown version of that.
  14. I like you even less now, lol. Be sure to report back with pics from that trip!
  15. A t-pin will do the trick. No, they do not go on easy.
  16. I would be prefishing, and setting no limits to what I'd throw.
  17. That's exactly why I am "married" to MK, lol.
  18. For a hand made boat, they aren't that bad. They can be found used, often for a steal. I paid cash for my 21XDC.
  19. Thanks Wayne - I think you may have pointed that out to me before, LOL. My mind is not what used to be.
  20. You can make any graph portable. Use a small cooler, put the batteries inside, mount the graph on the lid, and mount the transducer to a piece of wood, and c-clamp that wood to the transom.
  21. You'd be surprised what doesn't get weighed in... It's always a gamble to leave your spot, and weigh in an hourly lunker. Early in the day, many don't weigh in.
  22. Not for side imaging or down scanning. For traditional sonar, there are shoot through the hull transducers that can be installed inside.
  23. The digital models don't have that problem.
  24. There's a ton of info in our articles section: http://www.bassresource.com/content/search?SearchText=buying+a+used+boat&BrowsePageLimit=30
