  1. Next time get a Daiwa! Just kidding. Let's try to stick the original topic guys, and see if we can't help a guy out with his reel. I'm inclined to think that if something is really wrong, it's under warranty, and should be fixed or replaced by Lew's.
  2. Just run them dry.
  3. It says in the comments they are in Manitoba and 100% barbless there.
  4. To lose weight. The Core is a *light* reel.
  5. Cover would be another consideration. I caught this fish using a 1 oz. t-rig and a XH flipping stick. Smallies were in shallow weeds on that particular day.
  6. Saint Croix Avid AC62MXF
  7. LOL, Happy B'day Mike!
  8. A few docks up from the launch on Conesus, LOL. That guy is a NUT CASE.
  9. Start listening to different people.
  10. Thanks! Fixed that. No idea it was set that way.
  11. I think a Calcutta 200B would serve you well. Add a Carbontex drag, and flush the bearings. Really want to add some useful bling, order a handle for a Curado E. It's longer and a bit smoother due to bearings:
  12. Use less line out. Flip, pitch, and flip-punch:
  13. Gene had this on FB, pretty funny stuff, man!
  14. Not sure, I think it was a 12L I was looking at - maybe like 30" tall? It's a great conversation piece, LOL.
  15. The giant wine bottle is key! I almost bought one for a dinner party. Thought it'd be a great "challenge."
  16. Spanking doesn't have to be abuse. It didn't work on my older son at all. My youngest responds to a slight tap on his butt with total humiliation and regret. I don't think one thing works on all kids.
  17. Well, hit the stuff on that page first. Then if it still squeaks, look at that stuff.
  18. Even then, the E has only one bearing in the knob. The posts themselves have a built in bush at the bottom. I like the Daiwa arrangement with two bearings in the knobs, although that poses an added corrosion risk. I see that a lot with unmaintained reels.
  19. Follow the instructions on page 1 only before doing anything else: http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/customer_service0/reel_maintenance_instructions.download.-mainParsys-0001-downloadFile.html/Maintenance%20Tips-%20Baitcasting%20Reels%20%282%20pages%29.pdf

  21. If you want to see, go to the Shimano website and dl the schematic.
