First Bass Boat!
Just a reminder, it isn't MPG with a boat, it's GPH. My guess, about 20 GPH at WOT.

Cranks Running Horribly Out Of The Package
Koppers worked well out of the box for me, but an entire set of one color craw (shallow to deep, all four) literally imploded while in storage in my bedroom. And this was before I could even really leave them in my boat. It was weird, but I got a refund on all of them. Spro makes a great bait - some are copies of well known baits, some are unique. I like Aruku Shad. With their wide head, the faster you reel them, the more the head runs downward making them very snag free for a lipless bait. Trying to think of some others, but drawing a blank. I have a couple Duo Slavers, some OSP, Jackall, and Evergreen baits - mostly overpriced JDM stuff. Fun to have, but not necessary. I wait for sales, Lucky Crafts can be as low as $8 on sale. Right now there are a TON of RC series for $11/.

Favorite Pond Lure/technique?
It really depends on what cover is there. Spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, shallow/waking cranks, and spooks work well in spring, before the weeds come up. During the spawn jigs, wacky worms, and drop shot plastics get it done. Later in summer, most of the ponds I fish get so choked, only a rat or frog will work.

Kayak Fishing Anytips
Learn to paddle before learning to fish. Life will be a lot less frustrating that way. A paddling lesson from someone that is an expert with long distance/sea kayaking would be your best route. Once you understand all the stroke necessary to maneuver the boat, add fishing to the equation. As far as rigging rof holders, graphs, GPS, etc. Do it slowly. Mock up any riggings and see if you can live with the addition. Nothing worse than wishing you never drilled that hole.... Have fun!

Hooligan: Core Question?
The word "usually" is the key, LOL.

Hooligan: Core Question?
If it's a slot head retainer nut, it's usually reverse threads. If it's a Phillips head screw, then it's usually normal thread. Both have thread lock glue applied, so they are difficult to remove - and rightly so, anyone that has had a knob come off while fighting a fish will tell you.

Boat Floatation
Nothing funnier than a dude fishing the banks from a swamped boat. Somewhere there's a picture of me "floating" around, LOL

What Specs Are Good For A Topwater Rod?
A buzzbait and a Pop-R are two entirely different baits, though both target the top of the water column. For a buzzbait, I use any longer extra fast rod that I'd use for a spinnerbait. match the power to the size of the bait and the cover you're fishing. The extra fast taper allows you to get into the power section of the rod for a powerful, lightning fast hookset required for big buzzbait hooks. For a treble hooked, floating topwater, I like a shorter rod, medium or medium light power, and x-fast taper for a quick recovery after twitching. I like shorter to keep the tip out of the water while using downward strokes of the rod to twitch the bait. Pop-R's are pretty light baits, and I actually use a spinning rod with 20# braid, and 12# CXX leader for them to get extra casting distance. A good compromise for both would be a 6-6 medium/x-fast rod.

Damiki 4" Pen For Dropshot?
One of my favorite drop shot baits is a GYCB Shad Shaped Worm. It's a fast sinking, no action, little green turd. Bass love the stupid things!

Damiki 4" Pen For Dropshot?
Have you tried them out on live fish yet? What I mean is, just go and fish them. No action, sinking straight tail worms are a staple drop shot bait. Quit over analyzing, and go fish them. Take pics!
