  1. Plenty of people new to anything just don't know enough to ask the RIGHT questions. Hopefully after a few "what color Senkos?" threads, they'll start to get a better picture. In the meantime, try to help them out as best as you can.
  2. I don't use a fluoro leader for this at all. Too pricey and P-Line CXX in 10# works great when paired with 20# braid on this combo. Why such heavy line? Abrasion. I use an Alberto Knot to join the two lines. Result:
  3. I call them dinner.
  4. There is a review section. It's in the articles.
  5. I hear if you paint the rig red, the fish won't see it.
  6. You might find a used Avid.
  7. Some days, I feel like it would have been more productive to bring a few rolls of quarters to throw into the lake, instead of fishing with lures. Might be cheaper that way.
  8. I use a Saint Croix AVC70MM and a Daiwa Sol loaded with 10# Tatsu for small cranks. You'd be surprised the size of fish that buggy whip can handle....
  9. Fish team format tournaments instead.
  10. Use a leader or color it dark green/black.
  11. I've done that. Like hitting a home run in BP. Here's a fish I caught prefishing with jigs. My partner says, "Stick the next bite you get so we can see if we're on the right fish." I'm like, "No problem, I'm getting bit right now." Could have used her tournament day. Came in 2nd.
  12. Standards are what stifles innovation. I still use common sense and my own two eyes to decide which hook to use. Now with all the internet shopping, people can't tell what to get, unless someone else who has tried it first hand tells them to use a "such and such" brand hook in 3/0 size. Thankfully, that same internet brought us fishing forums where it's easy to find someone that has done the homework for us.
  13. The 1756 w/ 50 hp was under 12K. You'll probably have to call a dealer.
  14. I'm still catching them in inches of water with jigs, creatures, worms, and spinnerbaits. Look for timber, lacking any other suitable cover. There, you'll find feeding bass.
  15. Avid AVC62MXF for topwater, jerkbaits, and spinnerbaits
  16. What are you looking to throw? What line? What cover?
  17. Northern strain largemouth.
  18. Don't limit yourself to just Tracker, there are others.....G3 or Xpress > Tracker Just watch that GVW, and keep it in limits. I was towing a fairly big boat with my Jeep, but it was a tiller, with no consoles, and just a finished floor and seats. I had my eye (still do really) on a G3 Gator Tough 1756 CC. Been sitting at the dealer beckoning, LOL. Nice boat, under 1700 lbs.
  19. I have the Bill Dance model. It's literally saved me HUNDREDS of dollars.
  20. I only caught that one in the last picture, LOL. Allen and Paul did all the catching. As soon as I got that fish, I was done, too. Temps dropped like a rock into the 30s, and that was it for me. I can do sub freezing and snow, but with rain, it's got to be mid 40s or better.
  21. Here is a report from 4/1, from my friend Paul's perspective:

  23. You realize they, at one point or another, have made reels for all but a few of the reel manufacturers and make many of the store branded reels as well?
