  1. I was exited just hearing that drag scream. What a sound!
  2. From what I read, he drives the boat to the water, pays for the gas, launches the boat, drives to the spot and then gives up the con. I think cantcatchfish4somereason, owns the boat. I think we all know what the answer should be.
  3. I have been fishing Shimano for over 15 years. I had 5500C's and C 3's before that. I always wanted to try one of the EXT's. I had a chance to get one for a decent price this past winter. MAN am I having trouble with the linear magnetic break. I know Micro has experience with these, does anyone else? I'm ready to sell and get another Shimano. Or, relegate it to striper fishing. But, man is it smooth and strong. Casting is baffling me. Any pointers?
  4. I'm starting to look forward to his Saturday "drunkthread".
  5. 20 years ago there was a bait called a power pack. Sold first at all the shows and then at every Kmart and Walmart. Pure gimmick at the time. A friend bought three. Never caught a fish. $7 each, 20 years ago. He still has them. Came in fish and frog. Kicking tail or kicking legs.
  6. A friend in school had a 69. Only difference seems to be the chrome around the grill. Nice car.
  7. I have a 6' 10" Castaway HG40 jig and worm rod that I love. Along with the standard flippin stick. No issue at all.
  8. When I say old, I don't mean the D or E. I mean the Bantam.
  9. Ratio on the older Citica is 5:1
  10. I am going to say no. I watch way too much of Ed on You Tube. I don't think it is him.
  11. 6th in the tournament, not AOL.
  12. I have a 7'6" MH Gator rod. I have a Shimano Castaic on it. I have 2 oz in the butt. When you pick it straight up, feels heavy. When you have it in fishing position, magically light.
  13. Love Queen.
  14. Yep, and it gets harder every year. I always thought that as men get older, there is a problem with it be let's say, "not as hard"

It doesn't do it justice. Half is still in the water. The braid was cutting my non camera hand. Beautiful markings in person.

Huge Northern Snakehead. Out of the Mattawomen Creek off the Potomac River. 26 inches and I would guess about 9 pounds or so. Flipping a beaver in the pads. Light pick up and them it came bursting out of the pads and into the air after the hook set. One of the best flipping catches ever for me. Lots of fun. Was going to take it home and eat it. Didn't though, disemboweled it and kept fishing.
  17. ...but ya stayed for the whole thing.
  18. I sell supplies used to make signs of all kinds.
  19. No experience with the Skeleton but, I have been using since they started the company and still use Castaway standard graphite and HG40 rods. I love them. I don't think you can go wrong with the Texas made Castaways.
  20. I used to use the 7:1 and found I was having to concentrate on slowing down. I sometimes have to slow down the 6.3:1. Buzzbaits should run as slow as necessary to keep it up but, no faster. Like JFrancho said, he runs with an even slower reel.
  21. I like a 6.3:1 BC. A lot of people will say 7:1. My experience is that there is a tendency to work the buzzbait too fast with the higher speed reel.
  22. I did the same thing years ago fishing in February. Cold and I just let go. We were able to dredge it up with a rattle trap.
  23. Was the cereal Twisp or Quisp? My 79 Ford F150 still has the dimmer on the floor. I had a 67 Corvair with push button two speed power glide transmission. Don't tell your age for me.
  24. I have a 40HP. Motor is bullet proof. I did some research and they are used on commercial boats a lot. Someone said they are the Japanese Mercury. They actually are a Nissan I believe. The Mercury reference is comparing how common they are in Japan. I have been running it for 4 years. It is 13 years old. Still running strong.
