  1. IMO u shouldnt attack someone for doing something perfectly legal. yea it sucks that fish won't be there to catch again but thinning the herd is also necessary at times. i'm sure some smarter person will be able to back me up a little more convincingly ;D
  2. just pulled the trigger on a 7' mh david fritts rod. now all i gotta do is wait... is it here yet?... what bout now? ;D
  3. i've had mine about a year with no problems. hard to beat combo for the money
  4. something that helped me when learning to cast over hand was to hold the reel sideways. i learned to sidearm fairly easy but couldn't overhand to save my life. i'm pretty sure it's been said but it's worth repeating: PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
  5. thanks for all the input guys. i'm glad i just pu it in layaway and didn't buy it yet. i'll look for something more suitable when i get to the store. any suggestions on line to use. i was thinking my old standby berkley xt 14 lb but i'm willing to try something new. thanks BTW has anyone ever heard of an independent retailer selling BPS merch?
  6. any rod reccomendations in the 50-100 dollar range?
  7. I have an 7' medium light in layaway but they also have a 7'6" medium i'm thinking about. anyone have experience with this rod? pairing it with a citica 5.0-1. looking to get cranks down 15'-20'.
  8. I like venom and ***. both are tough and the action on the *** tails is insane. standard colors: black/blue, watermelon, pumpkinseed. also i like to take a spike it marker and color the tails chartreuse tipped in red.
  9. It's probaly not much help but sometimes things like that just come to you. I tried for day having the same problems you are thinking i'll never be able to pitch. Next day i was hitting 2' targets about 20' out. Day after 1' targets etc. I'm no KVD but I think I'm decent enough for someone thats been pitching less than a month. I went thru the same thing with flipping. I'm sure you'll get it. Also a long rod helps (the one i use is 7'6") and so does elevating yourself. Stand on a chair or bucket. Hope this helps.
  10. Anybody else do anything fishing related that makes people think your a few fries short of a happy meal? I'm not talking about the "normal" stuff like religiously organizing and checking your gear, I'm talking downright loony. For example I talk to my jigs when I rig them up. I usually say if I was a fish I'd eat you or something along those lines. Anyone else care to fess up? ;D ;D ;D
  11. 7'6" BPS Nitro (bc) combo for pitching 6'6" Pflueger President (spin) combo for cranks 6'6" Berkley Cherrywood/ Garcia Cardinal (spin) for skipping plastics 6'6" Pflueger Endeavour (my first bc) for whatever ... and a point and click ugly stick combo for bluegill.
  12. tied it on a jig tonight. hopefully get to try it this week sometime.
  13. is this a good knot for braided line? i'm new to the braided line thing and this seems like a simple and effective knot.
  14. anyone using the sc (cabelas exclusive)? it felt really smooth in the store i'm just wondering how it works on the water.
  15. add the nitro to this list. you can get the combo for a little over $200.
  16. I've had some luck with a Berkley Beast fished on a weightless T-rig extremely slow. This rig can also be fished topwater so you basically have 2 baits in 1!
