  1. My neighbor asked me that once. I looked at him serious as could be and told him grass carp. He doesn't ask me anymore. ;D
  2. That is a slick setup Rhino! This maybe a dumb question but what are the wheels for in front of your seat?
  3. 5-7 when on a boat 1-3 from shore
  4. After getting to spend some time on the water with my 7'8" heavy/fast 21 Carrot Gold I feel I'm ready to pass some judgement: Line Guides- They may be cheap looking but so far show no wear from the 65# PowerPro that's spooled on my Revo SX. Sensitivity- Pretty good. Not Amazing but definitely a few steps up from my BPS Nitro which is also spooled with braid for those wondering. Balance- Very good. My cousin has a 7'3" regular Carrot Stix paired with a Viento and it feels VERY tip heavy where I don't notice this with mine. Maybe it's due to cork grips on the Gold versus foam on the regular? Aesthetics- Either you like them or you don't. I love the way they look but thats my opinion and you know what they say about those... Overall- I really like this rod. It feels very solid and well built and I would recommend one to somebody looking for a rod in the $200 range. Hope this helps someone!
  5. so far my favorite moment was from this season when they are planning michael scott's party. someone suggested a two way petting zoo, you pet the animals then they pet you back. i frequently suggest going to one when people are looking for something to do! ;D

i like *** disc tubes, haven't tried the smooth tubes yet. venom tubes are pretty good too.
  7. I see Silva going down a weight class to fight GSP before he would bump up to fight a light heavy IMO.
  8. I have to SX's and i love them! The brakes are my (and apparently everyone else's) only complaint, and they're not that hard to deal with IMO.
  9. And what lines for what applications please? 65#- Flippin', pitchin' and frogs, 7'8" Carrot Stix 21 Carrot Gold with a Revo SX 30#- Pitchin' and Carolina rigs, 7'6" BPS Nitro Combo 17#- Deep cranks, 7' American Rodsmiths David Fritts cranking model with a Citica 14#- All around, 6'9" Zillion with a Revo SX 14#- Shallow cranks and topwater, 6'6" Pflueger Echelon with an Ambassadeur 5500CL3
  10. Nintendo basically did a direct port of Sega Bass Fishing to the Wii. It's very arcade like but you do get to choose between soft and hard baits. You cast, impart action and play the fish with the Wii controller. Overall not realistic but still pretty fun.
  11. 65# PowerPro Braid 30# PowerPro Braid 17# Trilene 100% Flouro 14# Trilene XT

  13. i'd say stick with the flouro to get your depth but use a moderate-slow action rod. i use 15 lb trilene 100%
  14. after getting a carrot stix i realized what a broomstick the nitro is! nothing against the construction, its just heavy. sensitivity is pretty good. and dink is spot on sayinf there brutes. did you get the combo or just the rod? the reel is pretty darn good too!
  15. you can get a revo sx for 170 and a $20 rebate from abu garcia. (or a pair of wiley-x shades valued at $126 your choice) for a rod u can get a carrot stix new for about $150.
  16. thanks guys! i went ahead and ordered a revo sx from tackle warehouse today. i ordered before i saw ur post bestbassreels or i would have taken you up on your offer. you can still pm me the link if you want to. again thanks for the inputI i think the sx will look and perform great on the zillion! gotta love black on black!
  17. the zillion is only offered as a casting model. plus i think you cause a rift in the space-time continuum when you pair a daiwa with a shimano! ;D :
  18. i thought about saving a couple more dollars and getting another revo sx. i've been watching the flea market hoping to find one for a good price. what about the daiwa black widow II? the tackletour review was positive i'm just looking for a little more feedback.
  19. my suggestion would be baitcasting 7'-7'6" mh-h, fast. the 7'2" shimano cumaras are supposed to be pretty good for this technique. i can't speak for them personally though. i use my 7'6" BPS nitro on the rare occasion i throw a c-rig. hope this was some help.
  20. i'm looking for a good all around reel to go on my 6'9" mh/f zillion. i'll be fishing mostly lipless cranks and spinnerbaits but might tie a popper or some other topwater on sometimes. i'd like to stay between $100-$150.
  21. heres the setup in question. sorry for the crappy cell phone pic.
  22. i've had decent success with them weightless. also you can burn them across the top as a subtle topwater. the legs dont hold up that well though.
  23. has anyone here used a small paddle tail swimbait as a trailer on a swim jig? more importantly was it succesful? i saw kvd with a jig rigged up like this in a bps catalog and was wondering if it was just for show...
  24. you're more than welcome. a quick youtube search for fishing tips will give you a ton of help. you'll just have to learn to seperate the good from the bad.
