  1. That could very well be the understatement of the year. No joke. However, you really need to thank the sponsors of this site, because they made it possible to do the upgrades. I couldn't have done it without them. This includes the newer sponsors as well. Please show your appreciation by purchasing something from them today. Help them support BassResource.com. Thanks! Glenn Well gosh, I mean if you read the first topic in the "important topics" is FREE. These guys who run this site, I don't know how they keep up with it and still work and fish etc. What does a guy want? TN hills, notice how some members welcomed you after a rather insulting post...just saying...
  2. I have rural dial up max. speed 28 bps (bauds per second not the store ) it is painfully slow, can't afford sattelite and I tolerate it, this site is fine. I just avoid some of the video and such, not BR's fault. Some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope.
  3. Not a dang thing (at least on that subject)
  4. Is there a dead line to commit to this? I am seriously thinking about it. PS thanks Mr. Carp I saw "tournament" in this thread, last year was for fun and braging rights, this time with a cash prize I don't know if anyone would want me on their team.
  5. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1205457210/10 This thread is what got me here. I have tried using Zooms, Berkly and tiki sticks, I haven't got to BPS to try Sencos yet. If there is anyone who would meet up with me, I can scrounge up money for gas and such. If not in a boat, somewhere I can drive to and fish with you from shore to "SEE" someone work these baits and catch fish. I can travel North Mark Twain, Thomas Hill South Lake of the Ozarks, Truman West, KC East, Colombia PM if you are interested. Thanks
  6. Yea, but, I have read all I can from all of the kind folks here but haven't had any luck anywhere (with plastics) I need someone to "Show me" I guess its a MO thing
  7. You are in the right place, I agree witht the other posts: Look here for articles, I have learned a "ton" also, this can make things complicated though, because I tried everything I learned at first to "master" or gain confidence in tech. but wasn't catching fish. If you have luck (success) with a place or tech. then show him on the water. I want to fish with someone who knows how to catch where they fish, it saves me time, money and who knows, I out fished my friend today on his own lake 8-)
  8. I finally have a pic for my avitar with me and a "keeper" sized bass (MO law min. 12"). It was 13" may be 1 lb. Caught in a private lake, and I release all fish there. I look really happy and I was! This is not what I am after (5+ lbs some day) but I caught some bass. What do you all qualify as a "dink" Length or weight considered??? P.S. Sorry I such an ugly sum buck
  9. This is the only video I've seen, the advice on the rest of the page is what gave me the basics. http://www.bassfishing.org/BassFishingTips-HowToPitchALure.htm Might help ?
  10. Just my opinion: If I had this thread, with RW's input and previous threads he recomended in the FAQ section, It would have saved me hours of reading (I love reading stuff here though don't get me wrong). Those 3 links answered or cleared up more questions about "strategy" for a starter. Muchos Gracias RW and the rest.
  11. Hey, ya ain't s'posed ta make fun of rednecks unless ya are one! Well, I are one.

Steel toe'd boots (that's all I have except some fancy dress shoes that I try as hard as I can not to wear them) ;D Fer real all !!
  13. See! Good advice from a good question from good folks. I learned alot from the replies to your question. 8-)
  14. Flaming is not tolerated here the moderators do a good job at that. They do allow poking fun and laughing at each other but is only in good fun, like friends. I like to eat my fish too !! but I do release them in small ponds etc. Welcome
  15. WOW ! one thread that addressed a few questions for me. I will pay much more attention to the fronts that are constantly moving through mid MO. My wife injured her knee a while back and when the weather changes, her knee hurts. And I have an ankle I sprained really bad that acts up. Can't see the jet trails 'cause I don't think many fly over where I'm at. I won't let her know this though, I'm afraid if she knew that she was an indicator, she wouldn't let me know her knee hurt Wives, geezzzz that could be an entire new thread if not a board ;D ;D My wife don't have any problem with me fishing, but she thinks I have a mental problem this winter because my work is slow now and if I'm not fishing I'm thinking about it or sitting hear learning more about it. Kudos to you who have wives that will go with and sorry for those of us who have had injured wives.

One piece of advice, Don't listen to a thing I post Welcome...
  17. Try www.in-fisherman.com (the ' should be a -)
  18. All the input is great ! That all said, can I (should I) trim the tag end a little shorter? Just want to learn.
  19. Yoda, so it said. I'm good with that. Interesting quiz, some of the questions I really had to evaluate my opinion of myself.
  20. I just want to reply for a shameless post to get me up there some day ;D I do love this forum though I have learned more about bass fishing than I have anything else I have learned on the internet (To the moderators, I promise not to do it again )
  21. I don't have a cat, but I let the dogs out and tie on treats and practice, It is a blast for me and the dogs. However, there is a good race on now ;D ;D
  22. Don't forget the thunder storms, hail and mabey tornados. Before we get the snow tonight, I'm sick of it. > Stay safe
  23. I don't have a boat (that runs) now so I learned how to cast a baitcast this winter fishing from the shore. I had the chance to fish with my brother in his boat yesterday and I had to undo a nest in the boat, on shore I could back up and pull line out and not get more tangles. In the boat, I had 15 feet of line floating in the breeze and had a tough time with it.. I have bounced my lure of the ground also, it is a mess.
  24. BPS graphite series 7' heavy....$29 + tax (most I have ever spent on a new rod) BPS telescoping 6.5' med heavy....$20 + tax Shakespear durango 6.5' med heav....$6.99 + tax Many others $2 - $10 no tax at flea markets and yard sales Pinnacle platnim plus bait cast .... $39 (most I have ever spent on a new reel) Shakespear durango (3 of them) $3.97 + tax Others $.50 - $10 no tax at flea markets and yard sales. I have caught some large fish and some 20# catfish and they are still holding up well for me I love to fish but I don't compete or anything so you can take my oppinion (and my tight budget) with a grain of salt
