  1. Good one.
  2. Looks like you had a good year Ryne. Keep your mojo going into 2014.
  3. For topwater I like all black or all white based on light conditions. But if you want white and black try it and see.
  4. Especially against Alabama.
  5. Spro popping frog. White or black.
  6. Knipex. Sears sells them. One handed bolt cutters. They are the numer one favorite for musky fisherman.
  7. PA requires you get it weighed on a food store scale with a paper print out giving the weight. I know the bait stores & some of the marinas have certified scales but the state record requirements are very specific about the scale with printout. It would be almost impossible to keep the fish alive with that procedure.
  8. Anybody watching the Sugar bowl? Very interesting.
  9. I think A-Jay knows me too well. I would not feel guilty about harvesting a new state record. I have always practiced catch & release on smallies but that fish because of the logistics would become my only skin mount smallie.
  10. We need to do a new state record. Then they might listen.
  11. My old Ohio plate before moving to PA was "smallie".
  12. Shameless self-promotion! But I like it.
  13. Jerkbaits don't work unless your working them over fish.
  14. If anyone has a copy of Them ole brown fish I would love to purchase it or borrow & return it. I have not found it previously when searching for it new or used.
  15. 4x is too thick & heavy for bass fishing.
  16. Roger did you ever read his book?
  17. Yes. They are the amazon of the Far East .
  18. Thanks for that Catt. Just read this. Westmorland had an amazing life and also had some amazing catches, a lot of which he talks about in his book. He personally caught one fish over the magic 10-pound mark, had three fish over 9 pounds and 50 to 75 fish over 8 pounds. He also talks about a fish that he hooked that was well over 12 pounds. Most of these fish were hooked and caught on 6-pound test and a 1/8-ounce Hoss Fly jig-n-rind or a 1/2-ounce Spinrite.
  19. Here is the schedule. Posted on another board. Shimano will be closed from December 25-January 1. We will be open again on January 2, 2014. I personally will be on vacation starting tomorrow (12/21) and will not be back until January 6, 2014. If you need immediate assistance please call 877-577-0600. 20. I'll go on record & say your smallmouth in 2014 will be bigger than that & you will remember the new weight or you don't go home.
  21. My biggest largemouth was 10-2. My biggest smallie was 6-8. I absolutely plan to do better in 2014.
  22. The point about taking your own reels is YOU know what condition the line is in. Guide equipment from the best guides is sometimes suspect. The person using the equipment the day before might have had a fish rubbing the line under & on the boat bottom or in a snag whatever. Guides change out line when it becomes low on the spool or badly twisted, things they can see. They don't change it for things they can't see.
