  1. I got mine off ebay with absolutely no problems
  2. The only time I peg is if I need to punch through very heavy cover, such as grass mats, otherwise I stick with the traditional free-weight t-rig. One of the problems with pegging, especially with heavier weights, is that the fish feel the weight and will often spit it quicker than a regular t-rig where the weight simply slides up the line when a bass bites.
  3. First LBH and Dan, now you too...
  4. No, but you can pick the new curados up for $149 with free shipping on ebay which is a decent bit cheaper than they are in the stores. I got my two this way.
  5. uh oh... the s*** is gonna hit the fan! After that comment this is going to be a 10 pager!!!! LOL, I can already hear Irene coming down the road... ;D
  6. So it's the day after Christmas and Little Suzy is riding her brand new bicycle in the park, having a grand old time. After riding around the park for about an hour, a police officer approaches her on horseback. "Hello" says suzy sweetly. "Hello" replies the police officer, "Did Santa bring you that bicycle for Christmas?" "Why yes he did" replies Suzy The police officer looks down at her and says "Well next time tell Santa that the reflectors go under the bike, I'm writing you a $75 fine for failure to comply with safety protocol." Suzy is shocked, then begins to cry, sobbing "Well, I sure am sorry officer, I didn't mean to break the law. But before you go, may I ask you one question." "Sure" the officer replies gruffly "Did Santa bring you that horse for Christmas?" "Why, yes he did" replied the officer "Well next time tell Santa that the dick goes under the horse."
  7. uh oh... the s*** is gonna hit the fan!
  8. I was wondering what your favorite plastics on a carolina rig are. I'm currently using zoom brushhogs, space monkeys, and lizards but I would like to broaden my c-rig horizons. What do you guys like?
  9. If you're talking about bass, that's not possible in any lake unless there was a genetic fluke of absolutely monumental proportions.
  10. The smallmouth in my avatar, about 4.75lbs. Caught her on a pointer 128
  11. That wasn't a striper tournament launching out of James saturday it was the PA state team tournament. I was there and it was miserable. They ended up canceling it because of the storms. Me and some guys from my club went out anyway and got a few keepers flipping grass but it was a tough bite.
  12. Its making a rattling sound that's ticking me off. I probably should just get a professional to do it for me but I'm bored so I was just messing around with it.
  13. Don't waste your time at Pinchot! There's no bass in there! Don't bother with Hawghead bait shop either, there's nothing worth while in there either! : A couple years back, we had a small BR get together there. Got to meet a couple really great guys then! Yep, Pinchot has very tiny bass, don't fish there... I just fish there periodically to, uh, check to make sure that there are still no big bass... because there's not... so stay away... Hawghead has some good stuff though they're just way overpriced IMO

  15. So I've got the handle assembly off, how do I get to the gear area? Is it possible?
  16. Speaking of Grass have you noticed the amount of (we call it seeweed) Grass that is cropping up all around the lake. Some of the stuff is over 12 feet long. Good Cover for fish but the Kids are scared of it plus get covers the intake on my outboard. Yeah, from what the locals told me that only started popping up three or four years ago. Its getting pretty thick now.
  17. X2 They actually do work really well, I've gone from 1-2 fish per senko to 5-6 and sometimes more.
  18. X2 We went out anyway saturday and the fishing was actually a little better, we landed a couple keepers. I'd be interested to know how the guys fishing the Jims Anchorage tournament there sunday did.
  19. Yeah, I'm with you speedbead. From what the local guys told me they think that the massive amount of stripers that are stocked in that lake every year are killing a lot of the smaller bass. We went down for practice wednesday and thursday. I managed 7 keepers and two dinks wednesday and two dink smallmouth thursday. Wednesday I was using a flick shake and dropshotting zoom finesse worms and that seemed to work well enough but the bite shut off thursday. My partner came in with 11.5lbs friday and he caught all of his flipping grass and using carolina rigs on the points. Tolz, flip and pitch craws (paca, chigger, etc.) to the grass around shy beaver, or any grass you can find for that matter. Its a slow bite but if you're patient you'll get bit. I'm going to pinchot in the next couple days to recover from raystown, I need to catch some bass over 15" lol.
  20. Wow, what a slugfest... not. The dude in first place had a whopping 12lb 5-fish limit! Close to half of the field blanked. I managed to pull in a 1.45lb hog (I'm opting for a replica) so that helped my team. Oh, and as far as my team went, our 6 guys pulled in 4 bass for a total of 7lbs. The winning team had 33lbs for 6 guys so about a 5.5lb average bag. The winning team was made up entirely of locals so they gave everyone else a pretty good spanking. The tournament was supposed to be two days but it started thunderstorming in the morning so they canceled the second day. I can't wait to go there again :. Move over El Salto here comes Raystown!!! ;D
  21. I know, this is just one more reminder of why I switched to shimano
  22. Yes it will no matter what you have heard size does matter ;D . Tackle Warehouse got back to me and said that they would have some by the end of July if anyone else is interested. I don't know if 12" are available but maybe if you put some viagara in a pack of 10" worms you might have 12" worms by the end of the week ;D
  23. How long have you guys been together? ;D Anyway... My Dicks Sporting Goods is located in a plaza, the sign in the front of the plaza reads: Circuit City Staples Dicks I laugh everytime I drive by it
  24. Hey guys, I need to disassemble my tour edition baitcaster (last years model). I've removed the side plate and the spool but I want to take the handle assembly off as well but I can't figure out how. Any ideas?
  25. Hell no, they have to clean the swimming area of my home lake twice a year to remove fecal matter and all the bass that I catch in the river are swimming around Three Mile Island all day. I would rather not glow in the dark...
