What is "big"
I was thinking about this on the lake a few days ago. I caught an 8" dink on a brush hog and I tossed it casually back in the lake. Well, about two seconds later these two middle-aged ladies kayaked up asking in all seriousness why I didn't get a picture of my "big bass" before I put it back. Clearly to them, an 8" bass is a "trophy." Similarly, when I fish with one of my buddies and I catch anything over 2lbs, he thinks its a giant. This got me thinking about what constitutes a "big" bass. To me, when I catch any bass over 4lbs, it's "big". I know answers are going to vary based on your location and whatnot but at what point do you consider a bass to be "big".

Random thoughts while driving
Catt, I agree with about 98% of everything you say, but I really can't agree with you on #3. I'm sure on the lakes you're fishing that #3 is probably true, but some of the lakes that I fish tell a different story. My home lake is absolutely chock full of grass sitting in 8-12ft of water, and all of my big bass have been on frogs. In fact, out of the dozen or so bass that I've had on frogs there this week, only two of them have been under 3lbs, with most of them being in the 3.5-5lb range. Bass that size may not be huge in texas but up here those are quality fish. I have caught some big bass on jigs and on t-rigged paca craws but frogs produce far better numbers and size for me. Oh, and in the tournaments there this year, almost every guy who won lunker caught his bass on a frog.

... and the redesigned Revo
Looks like an obscure JDM reel mated with a trion and then fell in a bucket of odd-colored, cheap paint that was on clearance at Home Depot because nobody else would buy it.

Tubes
I use mostly BPS tubes, not so much because I like them as much as I just have a ton of them. For smallmouth 3.5" cabin creek

Musky Bite???
So my dad was telling me about some news story where a dude apparently got his foot torn up pretty good by a musky. I can't find the news story now but has anyone else ever heard of anything like this happening?

You should take comfort in the fact that you don't enjoy doing audits. It means you're normal.

Have a tourn. ?
I don't know, one of the lakes I fish has loads of matted grass. If I know its going to be a hot day with little cloud cover and calm wind, I know ahead of time that I'll be throwing frogs all day. I think if you know a lake very well, its possible to know what you are going to be using all day before you even get there.

Celebrity role models. I just do not get it.
As a young person, I can tell you that I do not have any celebrities that I consider to be "role models." That doesn't mean that there aren't any celebrities that might be excellent role models, I'm sure some celebrities are honest, good people who worked their tail off to make it to where they are, I just don't know any celebrities well enough to consider them a "role model". To me, you have to personally know somebody for them to be a role model in your life.

This baitmonkey I keep hearing about...
He's a dumb, made up character whom people blame their spending habits on. I'm probably one of the few people on BR that thinks that he is a stupid fictional character. Just my .02c This guy ^ is like a dad who tell his son before Christmas that Santa Clause didn't exist. Yeah dude, seriously somebody needs a hug

newbie bass question, proper lip grab.
Congrats on the fish! Grabbing them by the bottom lip is correct. Make sure you hold them vertically though so that you don't bend and damage their jaw. You'll get used to it after a while, just always make sure you know where the hook is in their mouths... I speak from experience :'(. And under no circumstances should you ever use thumb guards, that is grounds for immediate man-card revocation ;D
