  1. I love blues and classic rock but I'm mostly a metal guy. Dismissing metal, or any other music style, because you don't enjoy it or understand it is disrespectful. I hate jazz music with a passion, but I realize that it is valuable and that jazz musicians are talented. There is a lot more to metal than anger and power chords. Most modern metal guitarist are very technically proficient, well versed in complex music theory, and draw from classical influences. Check out Abigail Williams if you want proof. I don't expect everyone to like it but I don't understand how you could deny that they are talented musicians
  2. It all depends on the circumstance. A guy I know rolled through a philli ghetto really slow blasting classical music out of his SUV. He said the peoples reactions were priceless.
  3. I'll take my fish when I can get 'em. What cast its on doesn't matter to me.
  4. The one near me isn't too great. They cater more to trout and live bait fishermen but I'll go there if I'm in a pinch.
  5. I was out of town at a tournament a couple weeks ago and I needed some braid. All walmart had was stren sonic so I picked some up. I won't be changing from power pro any time soon but it does handle very well and it seems a bit more user friendly than pp.
  6. Thanks guys, and Bassnleo your advise was critical! The sheephead really do put up a good fight though, you're right!
  7. I got back from 4 days at Preque Isle bay last night. We prefished for two days and then had our tournament saturday and sunday. Everyone caught a ton of fish, but keepers were hard to come by. I caught about 30 bass saturday on a spinnerbait and a senko but only two were keepers (3 fish limit). Everybody struggled the first day though so I ended up as the day one leader with only 4.34lbs. The second day I got tired of weeding through dinks to find a few decent fish so I dropped everything else and threw a 5.5" paddletail swimbait over a grass flat in 4-8 feet of water (thanks for the advise about the cleaner grass Bassnleo, it helped). The water was gin clear and there was a strong wind so I figured I should be able to get a "swimbait" bite and I was right. I only caught 4 bass but they were all keepers and I ended up winning the tournament with 10lbs for two days. I've been very close numerous times but this was my first win. I probably paid more in gas and hotel bills to get there than I actually won in cash but I moved up from 9th to 4th in my clubs points race, so as long as I can stay in the top 6 I'll be able to fish the state classic. As far as big smallmouth go... We did hit the main lake/deeper water a little bit thursday but we couldn't find any keeper smallmouth, I did catch a bunch of drum though (see below).
  8. I don't currently own any visions but I have fished them before. They definitely do catch fish but I wasn't overly impressed with them. I prefer my pointers as well
  9. Codorus is tough to fish, I know guys who do well there but you really have to put in the time. I'm with buster though, you should hit pinchot or the river. Pinchots been awesome the past few weeks and there's a great spinnerbait bite on the river right now. Good luck
  10. In the summer, Frogg Toggs
  11. Arnie in the movie Commando (I'm pretty sure that was the title), saw it on TV a couple weeks a go. It's basically him picking up heavy objects and shooting people punctuated by occasional attempts to incorporate an actual plot. Kill Bill was awesome but pretty tacky too
  12. You have some serious talent, good stuff!
  13. I don't have much experience with real swimbaits but some of my best hardbaits hardly have any finish left and they catch fish better than the day I bought 'em.
  14. They look awesome and I'd like to pick some up but I don't have an academy near me. on ebay the only ones I've seen are going for 2-3 times the in store price
  15. I haven't personally but one of my friends does with very good results, he also dropshots tiny brushhogs, beavers, and other creature baits with excellent success
  16. You guys will have a field day with this. Quantum on a carrot oh, and a certain someone should take notice, there's an X-rap on there :
  17. I will concede that in many situations the results between rapalas and LC may be the same, but have you ever fished for smallmouth in 47 degree gin-clear water? I promise you you will notice a difference then. I have had my arse handed to me on the river enough times by guys fishing pointers when I was fishing rogues or x-raps to realize that I needed to switch. X-raps do catch fish muddy, in fact, they catch fish very well, but trust me when I tell you that sometimes japanese baits will flat-out outperform other lures. Oh, and Burley, X2 on the plug knocker, that thing has paid for itself many times over Yes I fish in the same state you do I LIVE IN PA!!!!!!!!!, I love it when someone who is alive less time than I have been fishing, talks down to me, like I don't know what I am doing. Yes I fish the Lehigh River in PA, the St Regis River on the NY and Canadian border and I catch very nice smallies in such water with * ( ***'s Fat Ika knockoffs) and Rapala Lures. I don't trust you, more expensive LC's and Japaneese Lures do not catch more fish under these conditions. Explain how my Buddy Dan , owns river smallies using a 5 dollar Lhur Jensen Speed Traps then. Your equipment does not make you, your brain does. Unless you consider that squirt bass in your avatar and the short muskie you caught with your carrot stick make you a pro of some type. PM sent muddy, I figured I'd be mature enough not to call you out on the forum :) Edit: oh, and muddy, I put the picture of the smallmouth back up for you, I rather liked the other picture but obviously your idea of an avatar is a pis$ing match :
  18. I have caught a ton of bass I saw jumping with a wacky-rigged senko. Cast immediately where you saw the fish jump, you'll be surprised how often those fish will pick it up Catt's suggestion is also a winner

  20. Recently I've used them dropshotting with success
  21. Exactly, I've landed several 4.5lb smallmouth and this guy on my carrot stix. I'll keep catching fish on mine.
  22. Finally, a sane person!!! Thank You Mr. Senko!!!!! And now with E21 maybe "going down" where will your lifetime warranties go!?! Why would E21 go down? Do you know that E21 is primarily a golf company? They aren't going down. Boyd Duckett's actions do not change the way I feel about E21. I like how people crap all over E21 when one of their rods breaks just because they are new at fishing rods. I really, really, really, really doubt these rods break on their own. Nobody bashes G. Loomis or St. Croix when they break their rods. Are these rods worth $200? Maybe not. Nobody has even listed a source for this claim. Are they one of the best $150 rods out there? Yes. New to rods, I have been fishing my whole life and have owned just about every rod there is to own! Maybe St. Croix and Loomis don't get bashed for breaking because they are actually high modulus blanks(stiffer=easier break) with years of proven performance not pieces of baby food and golf clubs!!!!!!! Dude, he's not saying that you personally are new to rods, he's saying that E21 is new to the rod industry, so whenever a rod breaks people blow it out of proportion because its a new rodmaking company
