  1. He does that from time to time. ;D He talks me into buying reels because he knows I'll have to buy new rods to put them on.
  2. I've been fishing out of a sit-in for 2-3 yrs now, and I can't think of a single thing that I might do in a SOT that I couldn't do in my sit-in. As far as rigging goes, there are options for sit-ins...
  3. It's my understanding that Ryobi is the actual builder of this particular reel, so it may or may not have the same drag washers as the rest of Penn's lineup. I don't know what it is about this reel, but I find it intriguing. It's a good bit heavier than my other reels, and I don't really need another one, but...it's calling me... ;D I'm thinking it might be a decent replacement for my trunk reel, a President XT.
  4. I was just wondering if any of our users here have had experience with any of these reels, in particular the Zauber 1000? From what I gather, they're essentially the same reel in different colors and prices. :-/ I don't believe the Zauber or the RedArc are marketed here in the US, but all three seem to get decent reviews in Hungary, Poland, and Australia. At least I think they do...Google Translate is a bit hit-or-miss sometimes. ;D Zauber...
  5. Quantum changed their rod warranties when they released their new models. The Energy PT, which had a lifetime warranty last year, now only has a 1 yr. warranty.
  6. Have you ever watched a turtle eat? It's pretty cool. They don't suck in their food like a fish, they just bite off whatever they can fit in their mouth and hopefully it'll cripple their prey enough that it can't swim away. If they can't bite all the way through it right away, they'll use their front claws to help tear it and push the rest of the prey away from their mouth. My girl...
  7. Abu's QC has made the Veritas one of the best rod buys in the $100 range. You buy one rod, and it comes with enough epoxy for two. ;D
  8. i lol'd so hard!!! ;D ;D ;D x2 ;D My hand is a dolphin!!!! ;D ;D ;D
  9. I've picked up a few packs of the Strike King tungsten weights in the past week or so, and they're definitely not the same as the TT ones I already had. The shape is obviously different, with the SK ones having a hexagon shape at the base.
  10. I've been using two of those rubber-coated clothes rods in my Suburban. One way in the back, and one over the rear passenger doors. I use velcro wire ties around the rod grips to hold them in place.
  11. To me, that's enough of a reason to switch to micros on some of my setups. The weight difference between micros and "standard" guides can be substantial on some rods, and the weight is actually coming off the correct end for a change.
  12. Right here. ;D It's 78* and sunny right now. I've already cut the grass once, and it's due to be cut again.
  13. ^^^ Fantastic album. i felt the same way when i first heard it. her voice is so different its like i had no choice but to like it. the rest of the songs on their album are pretty good too! x2 That was pretty cool. Gonna have to dowload that one.
  14. I think you got the order right in your thread title...
  15. Lol, I think I just found my new ringtone. ;D
  16. I think in that case you're stuck dealing with Pure Fishing. I don't think your BPS will help you out with another manufacturer's rod, unless it's part of the warranty...like Shimano's over-the-counter replacement deal.
  17. Do you have a BPS Rewards card? If you do, they can verify your purchase in the computer and you won't need a receipt.
  18. There's one on Ebay right now.
  19. My apologies to the OP for this slight thread hijack, but here's another pic of the Packer with the "rod" detatched for storage. The coiled portion fits down over the foregrip, allowing the entire setup to fit under seat of a car/truck, in the glovebox, or (as the name implies) in a backpack. It's not an especially sensitive rod, but it's more than adequate to catch dinner.
  20. I haven't had an opportunity to use the new Omega Pro, but I've had an Omega Z03 for a few years now with no complaints. I have it mounted on an Emmrod Packer at the moment, but it's a nice general purpose, do it all kinda reel. It wouldn't my first choice in most situations, but for slingshotting small crappie/panfish jigs back up under docks or way under boat houses, you'd be hard pressed to find a better reel. Ignore the naysayers. They're most likely the same ones who think baitcast gear is somehow "manlier" than spinning gear. : It's like saying a wrench is manlier than a screwdriver. They're different tools for different jobs. No more, no less. TackleTour's review of the Omega Z03: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewzebcoomega.html My Omega Z03 on an Emmrod Packer:
  21. There was a thread about this problem a couple years ago, and there were actually people insisting that's how the bills are supposed to be. : I got rid of all but one of my Jitterbugs, and I had to redrill the holes for the bill on that one to make it straight. If I ever lose this one, I'm just going to buy the components and build my own. I don't see how it could come out any worse than what's being sold right now.
  22. x2 At times, they can be the most irritating little turd-knockers in the lake. >
  23. I have some that were bought from local retailers with and without the markings. I also have Kinami Flash with and without the GYB markings. They're probably fine.
