What happened to the Bass n' Shad?
If you google the name, there's a thread on another forum where someone claims the name has been changed to "Walleye Shad", but the product is the same. I don't know anything beyond that, but it might be worth looking into.

Watch Out for Global Subscriptions!!!
We have our phone listed under my wife's maiden name. It's pretty obvious when it's a telemarketer because they'll ask for Mr. or Mrs. ________ (insert maiden name).

Weirdest Thing You've Reeled In
I've caught various items of clothing, various lures, a few turtles, and a big ol' bullfrog while fly fishing, but the weirdest thing was a nasty swollen discarded plastic worm on a DT6. It wouldn't have been a big deal if it hadn't been flesh-colored...

I just ate something I haven't had in a long time.
That's just nasty. No other word for it, just nasty.

Ive got Bait Monkey Fever BAAAD!!!
Check your local Dollar Tree and similar stores. They usually carry that sort of stuff.

Stupid question: who here sells custom baits?
I think that may be your only option. If they're not paying to be BR advertisers, they'd probably get banned for trying to sell their products.

That's a thing of beauty compared to the Citrus Sticks rods... http://citrusstick.com/ The ugliest rods I've ever laid eyes on, by far.

The Signature Series is noticeably larger and heavier then the Pro Q.

Bass Pro Spring Classic Flyer?
I think you guys are getting all worked up over nothing. There really aren't any great deals in there this year.

Plueger supreme xt/ BPS carbonlite combo
With the exception of the little sanding block they call a knob, it basically just feels like a lighter Supreme. It's light, extremely smooth, and has little rubber ridges on the spool to keep braid from slipping. I'm not a fan of the EVA knob, but it is removeable and I think one of the aftermarket knobs for a Revo may fit...and they come in gold.

Plueger supreme xt/ BPS carbonlite combo
Yup, they're the same price. I think there are fewer models available in micro, though.

Plueger supreme xt/ BPS carbonlite combo
You mean this one? Mine is a 6'6" MH and the 35 size reel, but it's a pretty impressive combo. I don't like the guides, but the sensitivity of the blank is impressive. Basically, you're buying the reel and getting the rod for $50. I like it so much, I picked up a 7' MH micro guide casting model this afternoon.

Curado 50e question...
That's entirely possible. The one I handled felt like...well, a cheap piece of crap. :-/ I'll be back there in a few days, so I'll have one of the guys take a couple out of the boxes so I can check them out.

Curado 50e question...
While I can see what you're saying, and normally I would agree, my 2 year old 200e7 has less slop in the handle than that 50e. Of the reels in its price range, only the Ardents felt worse. Heck, even the $99 W&M Skeet Reese reel felt smoother and more "solid". I don't care how much abuse it has seen, that's just sad.

Best Music Video
That was truly painful to watch, and almost as bad to listen to. I'm thinking the $20 they paid the choreographer would've been better invested in four bottles of MD 20/20 and a couple bags of Cheetos.

BPS Classic Flyer
The only freshwater rods on sale in the flyer are the BPS Extreme ($69.97), BPS Tourney Special ($29.97), and the Quantum KVD Signature Series ($69.97)

Curado 50e question...
After handling a 50e this morning, I definitely won't be buying one. Lots of slop in the handle, noticeable "gear-y" feeling, and it's really not much smaller than the 200. Not impressed, especially at a higher price than the 200. :

Modulus vs. tonnage
That's probably because you went from fiberglass/mono to graphite/mono.

Anyone review a Pflueger Patriarch XT Casting Reel
To be honest, I don't think there's a nickel's worth of difference between the two when it comes to performance. They both cast light lures well and the drags are sufficient for most freshwater fish I'm likely to come across around here, but the Patriarch palms better for me, it's smoother, has a more durable finish, and I think it's better looking. I prefer the Curado's knobs over the small ones on the standard Patriarch, though. The EVA ones on the XT are the same as the ones on the Supreme XT, and they're not very comfortable in my hand. They feel like little sanding blocks. :-/

Anyone review a Pflueger Patriarch XT Casting Reel
Or a 7:1 version. > That's the only thing that keeps me from buying one. I prefer the Patriarch over the Curado, but I'm actually looking at ordering another Curado because I can't get a Patriarch XT in the ratio I prefer.
