  1. Sounds like you had fun. Cool pictures.
  2. I use mackrel or sardine out here.
  3. It seems to really depends. If it is a cold rain then yes it shuts the bite down. But a nice warm tropical system can have the opposite effect.
  4. Use it as a leader on my spinning rod, and have it spooled on my flippin stick and crankn rod. Never had a problem.
  5. Fishizzle's disection of the map is right on and provides you with a number of places to start. There is nothing wrong with asking questions and everyone on here will help the best they can. Just try to be as specific as possible. Good luck and I hope you get on the big ones.
  6. Pretty incredible pictures.
  7. Did he make those Poe crankbaits? I think they were wood?
  8. I like the spittin image and thanks to Muddy I am going to try the Jitterbug again this year. My favorite though is a buzz bait. I would be hard pressed to get a better rush than a hawg blowin up a buzzbait in the tules.
  9. I agree that sometimes the replies are kinda harsh. The thing is it's a map. The young man didn't say I am going to fish this lake and if any of you have fished it can you tell me any good spots. I look at that map and see several places that might be good at different times of the year etc... To look at a map of a place I've never been and tell someone were the "honey hole" is, I'd just be guessing. I have to agree that the best way to find them is to get on the water and chuck some baits. There is plenty of information on here to get him in the general area.
  10. At best we would just be guessing.
  11. I don't know about smallmouth in particular but I use YUM and Bang. I am thinking about trying pro-cure.
  12. Glad it went well for you.
  13. 1st off Welcome. About the torneys you have to understand that for every "horror" story you hear there are about a hundred you don't. If you are thinking about fishing one then do it. I would start out with a small local tourney. You don't have anything to loose and will probably have the time of your life.
  14. Great buys!
  15. I agree. Once I have my limit in the livewell then I feel as I have accomplished my first task and am alot more comfortable fishing for that "big bite".
