Do not get discouraged fish it for 2 hrs and if nothing happens go back threw the same areas with a different bait. If you dont get bit on that bait they might no be there or be hungry.

All honesty id still be sitting at home cause there is ice on my lakes. OR id be sitting at home till about noon then if i got the fishing bugg. Id go beat main lake points all after noon preferably points that meet with the channels Id throw a Carolina rig jig and a big crankbait possibly a suspending jerk bait (i dont throw them much) If the points didnt work id go find me a bluff bank in the creek channel and id start dropping baits right down the side of it.

On alot of older or shorter boats the seats are to far forward and kinda hard to use a foot controlled trolling motor. A hand controlled could be easier. But the new rescessed decks are one the best inventions things to hit bass fishermen. This will allow more room on thedeck and save on abck injuries. For shorter boats and people who prefer a seat or a but seat they now can be more comfortable.

Im 27 and I take a nap almost everyday. Thats why I hate the lazy boy seats I know how comfortable they get when the fish do not coperate. Nick when you get tall youll prefer a butt seat. The standard seats hit me square in the back of the knees. When the back is put up they are still too short. Besides that if you are leaning on the back of the seat it will colapse.

Nick What if they wont bite a crankbait? What if the only thing they want is a Jigging spoon and you have no way of telling they are there anyway? Listen to alot of bass pros. They don't care if fish show up on their depth finder. They will still fish the spot. What they look for is structure and bait. They fish it with 3 or 4 different baits and move on. Seek and Destroy its the best method for finding bass. Relate your depth search by, time of year, water clarity, structure, water temp, body of water and weather. Experience is the best tool you have.

Im not that old but I am a weeble wobble lol I fish with guys in their 60's as well as all other ages and the worst thing you can have in the boat with them is a lazy boy seat a butt seat is sufficent. (tournament day only) They will sit on the butt seat for a bit and go right back to fishing. you cant get them out of the chair when its comfortable. Being 50 years old you know how easy it is to take a nap. You are more accurate, more in tune with your bait, can make a quieter entry into the water, get a better hook set standing up or on a butt seat then sitting down. Bill Dance has divers and private lakes so he can do it.

But seats or no seat for me The chair type seat becomes to inviting to sit in when you need to concentrating most people become to relaxed. A but seat can be used to lean upon and for something to hold you in the boat on a windy or rough day. Real Bass Fishermen dont sit down

A male bass is the more aggressive of the 2. If there is no female with him and he is just gaurding a nest he will be very aggressive to anything that annoys him. I had one that wouldnt bite a senko on a bed he was watching me. So I picked up my buzzbait chucked it 30 yards up the bank I watched that bass fly off the bed and just kill it. I caught over 50 bass that day the biggest was 3 lbs and they all came out of 2 foot of water or less. I am assuming they were all males gaurding nests

tie1on Dont put that spinnerbait away forever. There are days and times when that spinner bait will be the most productive lure in your box on that body of water. Other days it might just catch that one big fish. Spinnerbaits are the most under utilized yet over fished baits there is. What im guessing will happen is the spinnerbait bite will come back on this body of water because alot of people will give up on it. Try fishing it earlier in the year. One lake in my area is not a spinnerbait lake clear deep water. They load the boat on spinnerbaits in the early spring. I never fish a tournament with out a spinnerbait rigged up anywhere I go.

Got to watch them fish with humped and curved backs and tails. My local lake has a few of them the same size I have caught 3 of them from the same spot on the same bait but none had hook holes in the mouth from catching them before

I am assuming that you have varied the retrieve speed, size of the bait/profile, style of the bait and color of the bait. Maybe you are fishing to high in the water column. I too have a lake where i catch few fish on a spinner bait. The main reason is forage and water clarity. The main forage in this lake are panfish and crawdads. water clarity is generally 4 foot visibility. The baits I have are mainly river spinner baits. Big bulky and bright.

How many spools of line you threw in a day with all that retieing

Very good article JT Bassincr I am a non boater and I too fish some aba tournaments. But being a non boater I feel that aba is giving us the short end of the stick as well. ABA needs a high side and a low side and I will be happy with it. I can see where the boaters dont want the nons running there equiptment. But nons shouldnt pay the same entry fee to fish used water. I will fish ABA again this year if time permits because I love to fish tournaments. But my main focus will be on my bassclub where im not fishing against my partner from behind him.

I get mad yes. Do they have a right to yes. Now if those fish are caught snagging or under the legal limits i have been kniown to call the dnr 2 years ago i had a kid about 18 tell me you cant catch them you have to snag them i set the hook on one as soon as he said it. I watched him run down the bank snagg one. he took it to a side pond and had a stringer of 10 to 15 bass on it some looked to be in the slot I called the dnr and left a message Supposedly the Conservation officer caught him 2 weeks later and had 5 or 6 messages about the same kid before he got caught

I actually wear the guide series shirts as tourney shirts. I have them embroiderd with my name and one sponsors name and they are very comfortable. If i had more Sponsors id look for a guide series shirt with out the front Pockets or at least smaller ones

Bass Wars is a great read to bad it isnt on any of my college reading lists lol. Kvd's books are very good

My good friend and fishing buddy is the worst. He buys every thing you have. If i catch one fish he has to have it. So when prefishing for tournaments i have to throw something off the wall. That way he puts what i want to use down and i can get a feel for whats happening. Well I loaned him some dvd's. Now hes wanting every thing from the rods to the line that was used in them Dvd's. He said it has to be a spinner bait rod with a fast tip. Well i explained the brand of rod isnt labled spinner bait rod. he went on for a half hour how he wanted a spinner bait rod. I had to explain that a6'6 mh rod is not just for spinner baits and the company he wants dont market them as a one purpose rod. Well during the phone call I told him where I purchased mine at a discount and that I wouldnt plan on them being there this year. Well needless to say hes waiting till then. But i had to tell him every place on the web that has them because basspro nor cabellas has them in the catalogue. Plus i had to tell him exactly where I buy my Jiggs because they dont carry them in the catalogue no more eitehr. All of this because KVD said so .
