Gold Carrot Stix
ive got the 6'10 MH, at first i used it for 1/4 oz contact baits and i was very pleased. but as i ve tried heavier baits on it i tend to agree more with BRR that it is a slower action rod. I think it is going to become a light shallow crank and soft plastic jerk rod. It is however unreal sensitive!

Need help for my first tournament.
drop shot, shakey head 1/8 oz., finesse jig. find off shore structure in 12-18 ft of water and fish SLOW.

Which reels do you own?
me=tackle junkie...please dont condemn 32b/c rod/reels 6spinning rod reel combos. Im very bad at spending money on combos specifically for one lure, not like for one application like cranks, like for one crankbait...i have a kistler 6'9 mh fast with a modified quantum energy PT just for RC 1.5's.....its like a good disease.

Just Got My Carrot Stix. And I Love It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BRR, you really dont like the 6'10MH for contact baits, i love mine, for worms and creatures, that bein said i dont use anything heavier than 3/8 on it as i do feel its a little more M than MH.

Modified a chatterbait
the Lake Fork Magic Shad make unreal chatterbait trailer, they dance like crazy! Spots in my neck of the waters hammer em when the shad run is on.

Just Got My Carrot Stix. And I Love It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the only ones i have are the 2nd generation gold stix, there are no issues with guides or reel seats on mine. The 7' xh is my flippin/jiggin rod, and sports heavy braid, no prob there. Awesome sensitivity. The 6'10 MH is my big worm/creature rod. Runs 15lb fluoro and no broblems there. both have daiwa 153hsta's sitting oh so plush in the reel seats, and even with them being larger profile reels there is has been no fitting or slipping problem.

CARROT STIX THIS, CARROT STIX THAT...GEEZ LOUISE!!!
ghost, i have the 6'10 MH gold stix. No guide issue for me! I think that was just the prticular rod they tested. I love it. Feather light, stout back-bone, pretty dang sensitive. It has been unbelievable for pitching creatures and tubes!

Quantum Code
ive got two of them, on 7'2 med action allstar ASR's that are my jerkbait, ripbait, chatterbait rods. I have had no problems out of them whatsoever. They cast great, have no back play, and are strong on the drag.

Your favorite go to rig!
shimano cumara 6'9 mh XF Daiwa Fuego 12lb vanish flourocarbon 3/16oz Karu Finesse Jig or Baby Boo Bug jig (black blue or green pumpin) w/baby paca craw trailer. For over a year this has been my year round constant. Only thing that changes is the presentation.

2009 BPS Pro Qualifier Baitcast Reel-->OUTSTANDING!!!
Agreed Ghost! I am a daiwa guy, but i give all the ladies a shot, and i own a half dozen shimanos as well. One of my partners had a new PQ in the boat last week, and i played with it and was amazed. I offered him a new E5 for it but he didnt take, so i bought a new one in the slower ratio, and put it on a new powell 683, i love it. It literally cast better and farther than any of my smaller reels, even my fuego! Now it isnt quite as smooth as the fuego, zillion, or mg 50. but on a level of overall performance after a week of use I'll rank it above the new citicas and equal to the mg50. I am oh so impressed with this reel!

I have that feeling....
its all preference man! if you feel that you can comfortably cover all the techniques you will fish with the arsenal that you have you are in good shape. Me personally, i may throw three diff texas rigs at one location, all with different size weights to differentiate the fall. Therefore i will have three rods rigged for those purposes. On top of that i may throw a football jig and a swim jig, so then i would have two more. Im always gonna have a shallow crank on, and most likely a med crank as well as a spinnerbait somewhere. I dont want to spend time retying when i could be fishing so i'll have em on seperate rigs. Its all personal preference man. 8-)

Good all-around set up
powell 683c and a tdz-103, hard to beat the tdz's for anything.
-
Pro Max
i bought one for hammering ponds, and actually like it better than my revo S, so te S has been relegated to bank duty and the promax throws spinnerbaits on money days now.
