Sunny Population
good advice LBH, checking with the DNR folks is always a good first step. in my experience if you fish a pond and are fishing for bluegills, or whatever you call them, and the majority of the fish are small it is safe to say there is an over population of bluebill or any fish. common sense says that you don't go in and take 30 - 50 fish out trying to get the population in check, your DNR can tell you what should be harvested per year to maintain a good blance, that woould include bass and bluegill... in short call your DNR folks to see what you should do..... Alfred

Sunny Population
i agree with basspro and LBH but would echo basspro's suggestion about catching and keeping some of the bluegill. this will thin out the population and give you larger bluegill a year or two down the road. the bass to feed on the bluegill but if the population of bluegill is too great they won't be able to control that population. just remember, this will not be an over night fix... hope this helps, Alfred

Moving fish from one pond to the next
you may want to check with your states game and inland fisheries deparment. some states don't let you move fish from one pond to another. i would call them also to see if they can suggest something you can do so the fish don't die. Alfred

First thing you throw???
i would have to say either a spinnerbait or a weightless "T" rigged lizard or worm. Alfred

Bank fishing
i have found that latley the small spinnerbaits that Strike King and Terminator make work great in small ponds. also i've done good using weightless worms, black/red shad, i think is the color pattern. as posted before, pick apart all the cover you can see and take your time. hope this helps, Alfred
