  10. I compile waaaay to much informatin on my fishing logs, so here's my data for 2009. Black Buzzbait w/ trailer hook: 94 bass 14.23" avg Topwater cranks (LC Kelly J, Heddon Spitn Image, Spook, Devil Horse): 29 bass 13.07" Frog (SK Rage Toad, Spro Bronzeye): 22 bass 13.26" That sir is awesome. I wish I was that thorough with my log. 1. Buzzbait 2. Frogs 3. Zara Spook
  11. Agreed. Nice job. Sorry about our stupid changing weather.
  12. Absolutely. My home lake is Lake Fork which is one of, if not the most heavily pressured lakes in Texas. Many of the true trophy hunters fish night exclusively. I've personally never fished nights on Fork but the people that I have talked to that do say the lake is a whole new animal at night.
  13. Dardevle spoons Wobblehead with a Creme Scoundrel Worm trailer Jig & curl tail grub Mepps inline spinner Stanley Ribbit Frog (high floater) fished on a C-Rig
  14. Awesome job. Congrats & congrats.
  15. Nice fish you got there bud.
  16. When I fish a new body of water I'll always start at the high percentage areas such as points, grass edges, humps, chanels, current. The best way to locate the high percentage areas is on a topo map. Once I know what areas I'm probably going to end up fishing then I'm going to use baits that I have a good amount of confidence in. Lipless cranks, & spinnerbaits are great fish finder baits because you can fish them at any depth. That's just a very VERY rough example of how I break down new water, but it's worked for me pretty good. Once you catch a couple fish at one of your key areas then you can eliminate a lot of the other water & put together a pretty good pattern.
  17. I can remember many summers ago a friend of mine heard/read that putting ice in the livewell water was good for the fish. Any ways he started putting ice in his water & I can vividly remember the bass going into the livewell looking normal & some of them coming out hours later with red teeth. It didn't happen to all of the bass but it happend to enough of them for me to remember. To me that's pretty firm evidence that it has something to do with the cold.
  18. X2 Actually I would be quite happy if those were the only fish I caught all year long. ;D Very nice fish Matt
  19. Great catch & really great pictures.
  20. Quote: Its crawfish guys. Every fish that swims eats em. This was this past Wed. in 40 degree water in KY. If it's because of the crawfish then wouldn't the fishes mouths be red year long. Not trying to discredit your belief that it's crawfish but it's just highly unlikely it's caused, singularly, by a steady diet of crawfish. Maybe it's a combination of both a crawfish & cold water. However, I lean towards the cold water theory, probably becuase it seams to only happen in cold water.
  21. Agreed. That middle one is just fantastic.
  22. X2. Both lures serve their purpose & both have times when they will out fish the other. Learn when, where, & how to use a swimbait & it will be a very effective bait in your arsenal of fishing lures.
