  1. 1st thing I thought of as well. You might just have some sort of nick or barb that's causing your line to snap on the cast.
  2. I have with larger swimbaits (preferably wakebaits) but I haven't had much success using braid with smaller hollow body swimbaits. That's just my experience but I use 17# flouro with my hollow body swimbaits.
  3. That sums up 90% of my hollow body swimbait fishing. If it's a hard bottom I want the bait hitting the bottom & stirring it up. If it's weeds I want the bait just hitting the tips of the weeds. & if there are stumps I want my swimbait to bounce off the stumps. The only time when I'll throw out a swimbait & real it in quickly without coming into contact with anything is when I see bass busting a school of shad. The hollow body swimbait has been my best producer so far this year. In just a few trips this year I've landed many fish over 5lbs with the biggest being 7lbs 10oz so far. I've tried the Shadalicious, Basstrix, & Money Minnow, but for me none have produced like the *** Jaw Jack. The Jaw Jack has 10X the action of the others IMHO. Also I go with the Owner Beast Lock hooks as well.
  4. Awesome catch. Great pics.

  6. By no means am I insinuating that the fish was photo shopped in. I just noticed, on my computer at home, that some of the tail had a totally diff color to it that looks like it was added afterwards. I used to do photo editing for a real estate company so I have my computer settings set so I could catch any mistake I may have missed while editing. When I look at the pic up at work (diff computer) it looks perfectly fine. I apologize if I sounded like I was taking anything away from the fish, because I'm not. Heck it's bigger then any bass I've caught this year.
  7. Those look amazing. Great job as usual.
  8. I know I'm months late but WOW what a fish. Big congrats Dwight. What a beautiful beautiful fish.
  9. Lures: Beetle Spin & Tiny Torpedo Co.: Creme Worms
  10. I live in Texas where catching a 5lber is very common. With that being said, I would be excited to catch that thing. What a pig. That's one of the best looking 5lbers I've seen in a loooong time. Congrats. Beautiful fish.
  11. Yeah I would put that fish around 6lbs to 6 1/2lbs. Never the less that's a really nice fish & it's always good to catch a new PB. Congrats.
  12. Outside of the stupid weather this spring I couldn't ask for a better start this year. I've only gotten a few chances to go fishing so far, but they have all been fantastic. In the 5 days I've been fishing this spring I've boated 7 fish over 5lbs. Biggest so far went for 7lbs 10oz. Great start to the year for me.
  13. Deep diving crankbaits. Honestly it's a technique issue rather then the lure. I see people deep cranking & catching a ton of fish so I throw on my DD22 & start chunking but come up with nothing. I'm getting better & had decent success during the pre spawn this year but I still look at my deep divers & think to myself "why don't you catch more fish". In due time, in due time.
  14. HUH??? What does that have to do with live bait VS artificial. From what I can tell, nobody came across sounding as if they thought that they were better then anyone else. Everybody just has a preference. Besides that, there are those on here that ARE far superior fisherman then most, myself included. However this is just not THAT sensitive of a subject to begin with.
  15. Nice job. That's a healthy fish.
  16. Nice job bud. Pretty fish.
  17. Oh man that's too funny. I've done that as well. So many many thoughts run through your head in a split second. HAHA. As for me. My dad & I have 2 boats, 1 bass tracker & 1 deep hull big water boat that we got from my grandfather when he passed away. We decided to go up to lake texoma & see how it ran. When we take the tracker out my dad will get in the boat & i'll back him down into the water then park. Well we did the same thing with the big boat but we didn't really do a good job of looking at the trailer before hand. We had no idea that the boat was resting on rollers on the trailer. I started to back the boat down & heard/felt something weird going on & then a huge crash. Yeah, the boat had rolled off the trailer right onto the boat ramp with my dad still in the drivers seat. Man did we feel stupid trying to fix that problem while other anglers patiently waited to launch their boats the proper way The boat ran fine that day & continues too. It's built like a tank.
  18. Why does it belong here ?????????? I didn't get it either until I saw that he was from Cali ;D With that being said, I think that there are going to be many, many more monster bass coming out of Japan in the next few years. You also can't deny them the rights of being the front runner for breaking the WR seeing that they already own it
  19. Awesome fish there bud.
  20. Nice job. Good looking fish.
  21. Real nice fish there bud. Was the tail fin missing some chunks & you colored it in, or just a photoshop miss hap when trying to enhance the color? Sucker has some bug eyes on it for sure
  22. Way to go. Yeah the last few days have been gorgeous around here.
