Going to France (advice?)
I have never been to France, but if I were to go, I think I would make an effort to go to Normandy. How far is that from Paris?

UK talks with Calipari intensifying
I believe that in a meeting with his current players, Cal was quoted as saying KY was the Notre Dame of college basketball.

Does anyone play Chess Titans that came with Vista??
Technically, I believe that is a draw. Where the King is situated now it is not in check and there is no place for him to go that would not put him in check. Since you can't move yourself in to check, it is a draw.

How to negotiate at a dealership?
I was told that you should get quotes through email from ten dealerships or all dealerships within 90 miles, which ever is greater. While you may have no intention of going 90 miles to get a car, you can use that quote to negotiate at your local dealership.

Watchmen
I did not read the books, but saw the movie this weekend and I was disappointed. The movie is nearly three hours long. There were some very good fight scenes, but there was also a ton of what I found to be boring material. I don't know if reading the books would have helped or not, but it took me a while to figure out why Nixon was still POTUS in 1985.

English professor sucks.
I can't believe your teacher thought you needed help with your writing. What is wrong with that woman?

If you Owned ESPN??????
Chris Berman and Stuart Scott would be the first two people I would fire. I would then fire anybody that uses a ridiculous tag line. Tell them they are not Dan Patrick or Keith Olberman, come up with your own persona and shtick. I would also bring back some more of the obscure sports out there. Whatever happened to Worlds Strongest Man, water polo, team handball. Let's go old school ESPN. And while I'm firing people, Woody Paige and that moron from Chicago who's name I can't remember, here's your pink slip too.

Am I being paranoid?
As the father of a 3.5 year old girl, I can see myself using this line many times. Thank you for this.

A Remarkable Achievement: #1000
I checked, Valvano had pretty good graduation rates at Bucknell and Iona, but according to a couple of websites only 3 players graduated from NC State. That's three players in 10 years. Not entirely his fault, the school admitted them, not him.

A Remarkable Achievement: #1000
Muddy, I am not 100% sure, but you may want to check V's graduation rate. I don't think it was that great.

Way to go Steelers!!!!
My only problem with the officiating is with the lack of review on the fumble/incompletion. It may very well have been a fumble, but with the Super Bowl on the line why does the booth not take the time to fully review it? My understanding was that the booth quickly looked at and decided it was a fumble and not worthy of complete review. This is the biggest game of the season! You can't take two minutes of your time to make sure it was the correct call before you end the game?!? You beat me to the post. ^^^^

iMac or not???
That is the resounding answer I have gotten from a lot of other people as well. People have told me they have had a Mac for years and never had a HD failure, very rarely, if ever had a program stop responding, and so much more secure internet surfing. Both my computers are Dell, and I can't explain how badly I want to take a baseball bat to both of them. Matt, do you find that the software included with the Mac, like iLife, is sufficient to do most things? I am just wondering if I would want or need to get Final Cut or Aperture for photo and video stuff. I have always found the included software to be sufficient. I am only using it for personal stuff so I guess it is not that technical, I don't know if you would need more for business or bigger projects. The thing I like about the Mac is that everything is integrated. If you are making a video you have access to all of your pictures, music, and video without having to switch applications.

Fantasy Baseball
A legacy of choking has to start somewhere. Could it be that we are just at the ground floor of the Mets legacy?

My Favortie thing about SUPERBOWL
This poor boy's not gonna do anything unless my Rangers can get some pitching. I'm going to start going to the minor league park this year. It's really no different than attending a Rangers' game. :'( If the cost of a Rangers game is anything like a Red Sox game, I can think of one very big difference: $$$$$$$$

Question - 2003 Ford Taurus
I say scrap it. You got almost 6 years out of a Ford product. I figure you were already into bonus time.

Financial Question
I got off of my own topic in my post. I guess my question is really more along the lines of isn't this just the way the economy works? Is there really any way to truly "fix" it or does it just need time to work itself out naturally.? It wasn't my intention to downplay the serious difficulties facing some people. I'm just wondering if the system really needs to be fixed or is this downturn just the consequences of capitalism?

Financial Question
Let me preface this post by stating that my understanding of finances and financial markets is elementary at best. Here is my question; Is the government throwing money at and trying to figure out ways to stabilize the market interfering with the fundamental nature of a capitalist system? It appears that the market is made to go up and down. Isn't that essentially what "buy low, sell high" means? When the market gets low enough people start buying, when it gets too high, people start selling, all in the name of making a profit off of the stock. I may be naive but, it seems to me that so much of our current economic problems are psychological. The sky is falling, is all I seem to hear on the news, so you get nervous and start saving instead of spending. I still have my job, as do the vast majority of people. Unemployment is up around 7%. That means 93% of people still have their job and still have the same money they had a year ago. It seems to me that if the media would just come on the air and say, "It's over, everything is fine.", people would spend more and the economy would come around. I know it is not that simple, but am I that far off? If I am wrong please set me straight, I want to understand.

The National Championship
My interest has waned. I have no dog in this fight, so to me college football ends on New Year's Day. With no playoffs for the Pats and the NBA in its doldrums, for me it is now a countdown to pitchers and catchers reporting.

The National Championship
They're still playing college football?

Clean Your Vehicles Off!!!!!!!!
The problem is not during the snow/ice storm, it is a couple of days after. You don't need to be that close to the person for the ice to hit you. As a matter of fact, that is probably the safest place to be, the danger zone is two or three cars behind or even in another lane when the sheet of ice catches the right wind and goes flying.
-
Clean Your Vehicles Off!!!!!!!!
May I add the roof of the vehicle as well? I can't think of anything much scarier than a sheet of ice flying at your windshield while doing 70 MPH.
