  1. What is with these lakes so close to the Mexican Border? Well Barrett is not on the Border as close as Falcon and Amistad are but it is only a mile away and has Border Patrol running around doing their thing here in California. Any ways on to the Fishing.Took my friend Riley out for his second trip to Barrett and put him on some fish as well as getting a few for my self. Producing Baits were Blk/blu Skinnybear jigs with the Paca Chunk, trigged Superhogs,Senkos and a few on lipless redeye shads.About 10 hours later fully exhausted and about 30 fish each. Nothing gigantic but plenty of healthy ones. Most of the Fish were caught hitting the many rock walls letting the bait fall till it got hit and reeling up and hitting assorted nooks in the rock faces after letting the bait sit for less than 10 seconds. I love Bassin

  11. Actually fished it a few weeks before but brought My son Shayne and my buddy Josh this time. I had done pretty good a few weeks before on Jigs,Cranks, and a combination of trigged Baby Brush hogs/super hogs and turned these guys on to the same This lake is loaded with Northern Strain and no Florida Strain which is rare for southern California. And no contrary to popular opinion its not all about Swimbaits and Dropshots out here. 14 hours of fishing and we ended the day with about 80 fish bettween us.Good times. Here are some of the good ones.
