  2. from bass zone You've seen the requests on every bass fishing message board in cyberspace: What happened to Classic Patterns? For those of you who came to the game a little late, Classic Patterns, a television/DVD Series produced by professional angler Mike Auten and the staff at Auten Interactive, was perhaps the premier instructional tool for advanced-level weekend anglers. It had no stocked trophy ponds, no staged catches and no me and Joe episodes. Instead, Auten took the top pros on tour and asked them to address difficult angling situations and seasonal patterns in a manner that would allow the viewer to learn while also being entertained. After a hiatus of a few years, new episodes of the show are set to air on the Outdoor Channel starting in the first quarter of 2009. Classic Patterns will be part of the Friday night fishing block, starting at 9pm eastern, and episodes will re-air Sunday mornings at 7:00 Top anglers including Alton Jones, Timmy Horton, Edwin Evers and Terry Scroggins have already signed on, and Auten expects to add several other top professional bass anglers to his stable of featured educators. It's going to be similar to before, but we're going to try to step it up a notch with the graphics and the 3D illustration. Anything we can do to teach people, Auten said.
  3. is there any actual studies of line visibility when it comes to bass fishing or is all speculation?
  4. Just wondering what guys are using for line these days for certain application. Including brand and lb test. flipping/pitching: trilene fluoro 17# and power pro 65# tx rig ( weedline fishing or light cover) 12# seaguar fluoro dropshot: 6# triplefish or 8# berkley fluoro carolina rig (main line and leader): 65# power pro w/ 12-15# triple fish fluoro leader spinnerbaits: 15# triplefish copolymer crankbaits: 10# triplefish copolymer topwater: 12-15# triplefish or gamma copolymer. the reason why im asking, i have line left from last year. thats why you see the hodge podge of different lines up there. im looking to stick with one but having problems deciding and i wanted to see what works for others. thanks
  5. when fishing a 10" worm along weedlines say 10-12' deep, what do you recomend for a bullet weight when tx rigged?

  10. anyone every tinker around with this color? what water conditions do you like it for?
  11. 2 questions, what do you guys like for bed baits? what do you like for search baits besides jerkbaits when temps are in the high 50's
  12. well heres what i think. your curado's are over 9oz the remaining reels are between 8.6 and 7.4 ounces. the curado will feels better i think with the flipping stick do to the weight balance itself. plus when flipping i only use a 7.1 reel to pull them out of cover as fast as i can. the citica 100 (7.4oz) will be nice on the loomis rod do to the fact that loomis is a very light rod youo dont need alot of line to pitch jigs or plastics and can fit enough 15-17# flouro to do that with(same reel i use on my worm/jig rod but a kistler mg). ripping traps i would think a nother curado and the revo for cranks. just my opinion hope it helps. i myslef ,love the new revos, in fact any of my kistlers im putting on revos do to the weight and compact size much easier to keep a finger on the exposed blank.
  13. one of my go to baits us a 7" yum ribbontail worm. i have alot of confidence in yum and zoom. i do like berkley powerworms but not so much confidence in gulp.
  14. the compre rods have a lifetime warranty. i would bring it back to where you bought it and have it replaced. a 6'6 rod is still short enough for topwater.
  15. though the flipping bite is a few month aways here (vegies at least) but is it safe to assume most people have at least one rod with braid on board for flipping weeds? last year i had 2 in the boat with just 2 different size flouro lines.
  16. sweet beavers, lake fork craw tube, paca craw
