welding aluminum
This is true. I have worked with some of the best welders in the state of Virginia and there's only a handful that can weld aluminum with any consistency. It's not the easiest thing to do, believe me. Have they try to use these products? The melting point of these stuff is over 300 degree less than aluminum.

welding aluminum
"Aluminum will melt right before your eyes and you will not have a clue as to why it did that. Aluminum does not turn re/white with heat it just heats up to it reaches it melting point and then it just vanishes and you have a nice whole where you were hopeing a nice weld bead would be instead." That was what I heard awhile back. However, as you will see in this video they patch a hold on a aluminum soda can. Can't get any thinner than that! or can it? :-/ http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=hts-2000&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wv# HTS-2000, Durafix are these too good and easy to be true? Knock on wood! I don't have any hole on my Jon. However, I notice many members do have leak problem. Just wanted to share! Thanks

Trailer questions
Hey Cart7t, are you talking about an additional $200 or $50? What I'm thinking of doing now is as follow: -grease and grease gun -bearing buddies ( look simple enough ) -Valve stem (should I bring this to a auto shop?) -light ( can do ) -fix a flat for just in case. ( load will be light -200lbs max ) Good idea! I will check the regular tire store if I will to replace the tire. Thanks
-
Trailer questions
Duh! why didn't I think of that and with video too. Thanks Triton21 Thanks TommyBass for the reassuring.

Trailer questions
I can take care of light and tire, but not too sure about the bearing buddies and stuff. Do you have a picture that show how these stuff go together or a schematic for the axle? Thanks

Trailer questions
I have post this before but I think I may have place it in the wrong thread. old thread - http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1237666376/2#2 Anyway here are the question again: "Hey guys or gals, Found this trailer for $150, it got a couple of problem so I'm wondering if it is worth the price. It is a year 2000 Load Rite for watercraft but wide enough for my 12' jon. It got broken left light and left wheel missing a stem valve however the tire look good. Is it okay for the grease to come out of the axle? Both wheels spin free without any roughness. Does the trailer worth $150 with these problems? How much will it cost to fix these problems? I'm never own a trailer before so don't know anything about it. Now, I need to find a trailer hitch for my 2005 Odysseys. Do you know if any good place for this? Thanks, MA1232" Pictures: Trailer - http://picasaweb.google.com/sfclaxton/MarchTrailer#5315735564197633826 Light - http://picasaweb.google.com/sfclaxton/MarchTrailer#5315735574441906626 wheel - http://picasaweb.google.com/sfclaxton/MarchTrailer#5315735593094775810

buying first trolling motor
Hi trojangolf88, How big is your boat? Either Cabela or Basspro has a chart matching tm size to boat size. I would get 1 size up from what they say. Just my 2 cents! I have a 46lbs tm for my 12' Jon. The speed is okay. I would said it is faster than a kayaker at full speed but not by much! Next, how much power will your TM use? How long you meet to run the TM on your fishing trip? These questions will help you answer on the battery size you need. Good luck!

Trolling on reverse

wiring questions for my new trolling motor
Wow! I never know that those thing were use to reduce electrical noise. I have a lot of them from old CRT monitor cable. Hey Bassman, LadyFlyFisher post a great idea over on this thread. She used a 12v Makita battery for the fishfinder. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1211988351 Tight Line!

How and where should I put the fish finder?
Thanks LadyFlyFisher! The "Makita 12v batteries" is a good idea. I got two batteries from my "crapman" cordless drill That I can try this idea out. Going to see how long I can run the Fishfinder with my "crapman" batteries. Thanks

wiring questions for my new trolling motor
Hi Jonathan, Sorry for hijacking your thread but I have a question for Sneaker if you don't mind. Currently, I have a type 29 battery and a 46lbs TM. I just pickup a Fishmark 320 and planning on connecting it directly to the battery. After reading your post, I'm hoping that I don't have to add a "noise filter". However, If it is going to be a problem. Where can I purchase one of this noise filter? Can you post a link to a picture of a "Noise filter"? Thanks

How and where should I put the fish finder?
Thanks Jig man! The c clamp idea was what I'm looking for. tight line!

How and where should I put the fish finder?
With the recent posts of fish finder, I when out and pick up an Eagle's Fishmark 320 for $115. I only have one battery and the cable from the unit is not long enough. How do you guys solved this problem? I know that one can just buy a cable and extend it. What i'm looking for is a plug-in solution (speaker plug kind of thing). ex: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2123188&cp=&sr=1&origkw=speaker+plug&kw=speaker+plug&parentPage=search http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102840&cp=&sr=1&origkw=Banana+Jacks&kw=banana+jacks&parentPage=search http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102834&cp=&sr=1&origkw=Banana+Jacks&kw=banana+jacks&parentPage=search I don't have a trailer, so I'm a little worry about mounting the transducer right on the transom. Don't want to mount it on the trolling motor because of weed. Any advise or idea? Pictures would nice! Thanks

Boat Dolly/Cart
If you are going sandy area, you will need to get a pair of wide wheels (2" to 4" wide). Of course, the wider the better. The design is up to your need. ie. wheels under or on the side of the boat. regular 2x4, wood sealer, and then poly it. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1206570127/25#25 Keep it simple!

adding Pedialyte (contain electrolyte) to battery
Is it okay to add Pedialyte to battery? I got some left over "expire" pedialyte from the kids. Is this better or worser than distill water? Thanks
