I dont have DirectTV anymore so up until now I've been forced to watch whatever (usually crappy) NFL game that the local networks showed. Well, I just got NFL Red Zone today. I was skeptical about it at first because I wasn't sure how it was going to be shown and I surely wasn't expecting it to work like it did. It's well worth $40 bucks a season for anybody who may be on the fence about getting it. I saw the important parts of every game as they happened and the announcer guy filled you in on the situation of each game as they switched to it. If the game they were showing went to commercial, Red Zone immeditely went to another game because there are NO COMMERCIALS on NFL Red Zone. Also, when there's a timeout or instant replay going on, they switch to a game that is in play so you dont fall asleep. They double screen it when there's simultaneous 'important' plays (3rd downs, 4th downs, etc) It's 100% football, all day and you see all the important plays and EVERY touchdown of EVERY game. All in HD. Best $40 bucks I ever spent. fourbizz...you might want to look into this
  2. Looks like a good idea anyway. I'll definitely try them.
  3. Kerr has been on a downhill slide the past few years. I fished Kerr several times this spring and anything over 14" was hard to come by. Some tournaments there this spring could be won with 8 or 9 lbs. I read just last week that the LM bass virus has been found in Kerr and that would explain some of the poor fishing. Usually a tournament on Kerr under normal conditions it takes 15+ lbs to get in the money and most times 18+ to win. Back in the mid 90's if you didnt have 16 or 17 lbs you might as well put the boat on the trailer early and beat the crowd outta there.
  4. As you might have noticed, daylight has been getting shorter. This is a good indicator that fall is approaching fast. I'm on the east coast and our nights have been in the 60's the past couple weeks but its still been mid-high 80's during the day, in fact, it was 90 today. Thing is, ever since the length of daylight has been getting shorter (about 3 weeks or so), even though we were having high air temps, we've had fish schooling and the water temps have been slowly dropping. The schooling fish typically wont show themselves until they start to move from summer to fall so everytime I've been out in the past few weeks I have made it a point to run into some major creeks to look for baitfish. So far, there are a few creeks that are full of shad and the rest just have some here and there. I've had the best luck in the creeks that have the most shad. I suspect the other creeks to 'turn on' once the shad population grows in those other creeks as fall comes on. I guess to answer your question, just act like it's fall and check the spots where they should be in the fall. The baitfish population in these spots should tell you a lot about what's going on and you shouldn't have to fish too long in these spots to figure out whether it's on or not. If it's not, go back to the last places you caught fish and start looking. If they arent at the last spots you caught them, they've got to be in between those last spots and the spots you find them in the fall. Baitfish should be a priority in your search.
  5. The PAA tournaments are about as close as we'll ever get to a 'showdown' type of tournament between the 2 tours but not everyone is fishing the PAA.

  9. Didnt OJ pawn his Heisman trophy? Or sell it on eBay or something? ;D
  10. Rivers is probably the slowest QB in the NFL. He more than likely would've gotten hammered if he had decided to run it in. Too bad he didnt try it. ;D
  11. During his last year at USC he denied, denied and denied that he accepted any gifts or had done anything against NCAA rules. Giving it back now just says that he acknowledges and admits there was wrongdoing on his part during his years at USC. I dont know what to think about it because Reggie seems to be a decent guy. I guess I'll just call it a wash at this point. Vince Young shouldn't get it. He didnt win it.

You can still register. So go buy a boat real quick, then go register.
  13. Toss your chosen bait (from a good distance) up onto the sidewalk and just drag it slowly into the water near the bass. Wait 3 seconds, then set the hook. I'd probably throw a small finesse worm on a light shaky head first.

  15. The Jets offense was downright terrible....kinda reminded me of the Ravens of years past. World class defense but no offense whatsoever.
  16. Anybody here fishing the All Frog tournament?
  17. #1 Fluke on Hornet head #2 Lil George #3 Cast net
  18. I was about to post the Silaflex as well. I used them for several years and still have a couple in the boat as spares. Probably the best inexpensive crankbait rod around. It's glass too. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_58485____SearchResults
  19. I have no problems using the clear but I like the green because of the possible light reflection on the clear. Aside from line color, I think the Berkley 100% is great line, especially on a baitcast reel. Awesome knot strength, good abrasion resistance, low stretch, etc.... I've used more manageable fluorocarbon but I get along with the Berkley 100% pretty good. I buy it in 2,000 yd spools and it saves me money. Good stuff.

  21. If he had not choked him, Romo would've gotten plastered. Cowgirls lose !!!
  22. Run all the way into the backs of the creeks and work your way out until you find the shad. In early fall they may not be all the way back yet but thats most likely where they are headed. As for baits, spinnerbait, trap, shallow crank, mid crank, jig, hornet fluke and a pop-r.
  23. Seahack fans say that a lot. ;D All kidding aside, I didnt expect the 49ers to get smacked around like that by anybody this season. Singletary cant be happy about todays performance on either side of the ball.
