  1. If you're not fishing in heavy slop and the wind isn't howling, you'll seldom need anything heavier than a 1/2 oz weight. I prefer 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz but I will throw a 1/2 oz on a carolina rig.
  2. I knew better than to click on this thread. ;D
  3. Luke had been fishing BASS for 4 or 5 years when he won the Classic. It looked like it was only one year because he was fishing both tours when he won it. After his Classic win, he went all FLW.
  4. ;D Yeah, open the livewell and they're all laying on their sides.....nice and alive...just chillin'. Happens quite often during the summer months when you are pumping in fresh water and such, then you add some more C&R and the party is on!

  7. I think if you took the Top 20 Elites and put them against the Top 20 from the FLW Tour in a combined weight tournament, the Elite guys would come out on top. Any lake, any date.
  8. Welcome to the month of May, skeety! ;D
  9. Fixed your post Nate
  10. Wow, that's some nice work! Congrats Chris, I hope you enjoy it!
  11. Deal. You're screwed Burley! Me and Wayne's trying to round up some Loomis NRX money....no offense man, we'll see you when you get out.
  12. Gotcha beat Wayne, I'll give it to them for $10 grand...
  13. Good to see Loomis catching up to everyone else in handle designs, reel seats and such. It's about time.

  15. I'll go ahead and reply for Burley: "Get yourself some Crocs"
  16. I agree 100%. The Stanley Cup is the hardest championship to win....in ANY sport.
  17. Gamakatsu makes a decent hook but there are stronger options out there...and check those hook points every now and then. The weight will work against you on a carolina rig if you give any slack and the fish starts shaking its head or coming out of the water. Just do your best to keep it extra tight and give NO slack at all. Dont go overboard on the weights either. Most times a 1/2 oz will do the trick, even at 25 ft deep. As long as you keep the weight in contact with the bottom, thats the important thing.
  18. Sounds like you're unfamiliar with a deep bite and not recognizing immediately, giving the fish more time to get you out of position for that rock solid hookset. If fish are jumping, pulling or shaking off it's because they are not hooked well or you've given too much slack or both. One thing you can do is to reel down just a little more before setting the hook. That will get you more rod swing to sink the hook and get them turned in your favor a little faster once you drop the hammer. It could be a hook problem. Are your hooks sticky sharp? Are your hooks strong enough to not flex on a hard hookset with braid? A weak or dull hook will cause problems. Could be a drag issue. Is your drag set properly? If it's set too loose you will not get solid hooksets. I'm just thorwing some possibilities out there but it really does sound like you're not recognizing the bite early enough and when you do feel it, you may be rushing yourself to set the hook and not getting out the slack like you should before you set the hook.

  21. I'm not a fan of the hour long announcement, nor the fact that he didnt even give Cleveland a courtesy call to let them know beforehand....but then again, that would've probably made the decision that much more difficult. That being said, Chris Bosh confirmed that LeBron begged him to come to Cleveland all the way up until this past weekend and only when he realized Bosh really didnt want to play in Cleveland, did LeBron start taking other offers seriously. LeBron at least tried to work it out to stay in Cleveland. I don't blame LeBron one bit for wanting to win and taking a pay cut to do it. It speaks volumes for what he wants to accomplish during his career and that it's not all about money. Good for him. And D Wade. And Bosh.
  22. roadwarrior, seriously? Shouldn't you be counting your Fat Ika's or something? The World Cup happens once every 4 years and a few of us want to talk about it....big deal. I'm actually a little puzzled by the soccer haters clicking on a thread that says Any World Cup fans??? :-?
  23. The goal Brockenhorst (sp?) scored for the Dutch yesterday from what?....40+ yards out...that was an absolute laser to the top right corner. It's apparent that he's got a good handle on the new Adidas ball. That was an amazing shot.
