Anybody else see the fights? Lesnar took a beating in Round 1 then came out in the 2nd and finished Carwin with an arm triangle, 2:19 in. >

  4. Your right about that - but some times I wonder if newbies get frustrated at being chastised by long-time members of the forum or even the moderators. It takes a while to get the hang of it and even some of us "been posting a long timers" get it wrong (at least according to the Mods). Still one of the best places on the web and I do appreciate that the Mods do a lot of work (which by the way I'm not willing to do) but some times I think a lighter touch is better than a heavy hand. Sort of like finesse fishing, I guess. This is a borderline 'mod bashing' post. Keep it on topic Shad Master! ;D
  5. It's funny how the smallest idea can turn into a huge production.

  8. From what I've heard about it, it's got some type of hinge or swivel that allows the bait to move a little better on the hook. What you decribed isn't really anything 'new'.....just a shaky head with a wide gap hook. I have a box full of those already.
  9. Nice work Francho! Excellent reporting too....
  10. Bass Zone post show interview with Biffle showed a close up of the bait. Yeah, I saw a small picture of it last week but he had a bait rigged on it and I couldn't actually see just the head & hook like I wanted to. I liked what I saw though.
  11. Yeah that new head looks like it will give a little more life to whatever plastic bait you put on it. I'm interested in trying one.
  12. I hooked a bass a few years ago on a fluke and it got around some brush and broke me off. About a minute later, while I was tying on another hook, the bass jumps maybe 10 ft from the boat, shakes it's head and throws the fluke (w/hook) onto the deck of my boat, right at my feet.

I watched the whole game and had pretty much accepted the impending 0-0 tie....then when Donovan buried it in the back of the net I came out of my seat cheering! It was dramatic to say the least. Algeria played well too and that was probably the best WC game I've watched so far. Both teams were playing TO WIN instead of playing conservative and just trying not to lose. Lots of offensive action, several shots off posts and crossbars....good stuff. Big win for the US.

Thank goodness for stoppage time!!! Congratulations to Team USA on the victory today against Algeria and winning their group to advance to the next round despite being screwed on yet another clean goal early in the game.

  21. Actually KVD is in 5th after Day 3...but less than 3 pounds back so 2 in a row is well within his reach. Biffle claims to have not touched any of his best spots yet so if that plays out to be true, Biffle's going to be hard to beat even with the slim lead he's got right now. Here's the Day 3 standings and the Top 12 that will be fishing tomorrow (the final day of the regular Elite season). The Top 12 in AOY Points after tomorrow's action will advance to the postseason. 1 Tommy Biffle 5 19-11 5 18- 9 5 17- 4 15 55- 8 2 Pat Golden 5 18-15 5 17- 0 5 18-13 15 54-12 3 Rick Morris 5 15- 0 5 18- 6 5 20- 0 15 53- 6 4 Skeet Reese 5 15-11 5 17- 5 5 19-15 15 52-15 5 Kevin VanDam 5 17-10 5 16-15 5 18- 2 15 52-11 6 Matt Herren 5 18- 3 5 14-13 5 19- 9 15 52- 9 7 Cliff Pace 5 14- 4 5 19-15 5 16-14 15 51- 1 8 Gary Klein 5 16- 0 5 17-10 5 17- 1 15 50-11 9 Russ Lane 5 19-10 5 14- 6 5 15-11 15 49-11 10 Boyd Duckett 5 16- 9 5 14- 4 5 18- 5 15 49- 2 11 Mike McClelland 5 19-8 5 13- 5 5 15- 7 15 48- 4 12 Davy Hite 5 16- 5 5 16- 7 5 14- 4 15 47- 0
  22. As with any Rapala bait, you know you're getting a quality product when you buy one. The DT's are very good baits. The first year they came out they had lip problems but that got fixed in a hurry. I broke several of the early DT's but none since. I like the SS hooks. If the bigger hook gets 'em, it's harder for them to throw the bait simply because they're usually hooked a little farther in the mouth. That bigger hook will grab some of the short striking fish too, the fish you might normally miss with a regular treble hook. I really like the SS hooks on jerkbaits. I think a lot of people shy away from the SS hooks just because they're worried about hanging up more often. What they might not realize is that the DT's are very buoyant and back up and away from snags really well. If you run into something just let off for a second, let the bait float up and then get back to reelin'.
  23. Game 7 was sloppy but it made it exciting at the same time. Either team could've won it, the Lakers just happened to be leading when the clock ran out. ;D
