I'm a big fan of Jackall products as well. Jackall's lead lure designer was the lead lure designer for Lucky Craft a few years ago. He's responsible for designing many of LC's best baits....the Pointer being one of them. He's really got a good working knowledge of what it takes to make a productive bait. I have nothing but good things to say about Jackall products.
  3. I think the companies who own these wells should have something rigged up in advance to cover the wells should a spill happen in the future. Something thats already down there and can be slid on or applied in a very short amount of time....just something to stop or at least slow down the flow until permanent repairs can be made. Sounds simple but with technology today they can handle it. Maybe a diiferent design of the well top that would aid in capping should a blowout occur. I know something can be done differently.
  4. With all the new electronics (side scan, structure scan) nothing is safe anymore. Any cover or structure is easily found these days. I doubt the guys who found brushpiles/rockpiles etc on their graphs just ignored them.

  7. bigfish, I feel your pain and am just as mad as the next guy about the BP situation. That said, I edited the phone # and email address from your post...if someone wants to email or call, that info can be found easy enough. We're not going to advertise that info here.

  10. I agree....no way in hell I'd go to Mexico these days and unfortunately, those thugs probably could've pulled off blowing up the dam had it not got out before it happened.

  12. Planting brush is just like fishing for bass on beds...if you dont do it, you're at a disadvantage right from the start. Doing it that close to the tournament may mean that Suggs was anticipating where the fish were wanting to go and put the brush in their path, but who really knows? It does sound a little shady but in the grand scheme, it's no different than the average Joe, like me doing it. BUT....I got a 5 or 6 month gap before fish get on my stuff. ;D I sink brush for summertime fishing when the fish go deep but I sink it in the winter months.
  13. Tin, it happens on all lakes. It just so happens that Suggs was probably the only one that fishes Ouachita on a regular that was in that FLW. If there had been 15 Ouachita regulars in the tournament, some of those had probably sunk brush before and would have had plans to fish it. I know that in my home waters during open t's, at blast off you can look around and point at 10 or more guys that sink brush. I suspect people will keep doing it until someone makes a rule against it. I know I will. (I dont do it a week before a tournament though) ;D
  14. Drop it right on top, line up reference points on the surrounding banks and write the info down if you dont think you can remember those ref points. Fish all around it, across the hump and everything in between. Then pull up your marker until you locate it on the next trip....if you just leave it you'll have everybody and their brother on your new found sweet spot. I keep markers right where I can grab 'em quick and throw them over. If I see something interesting on my graph, the marker goes in the water then I make a few circles and investigate further. It's a real easy and cheap way to find new stuff. But if you can afford a side scan/structure scan, do it. It will cut way down on your time spent 'looking' for and at stuff.
  15. I use the Flick Shake a lot along with the Jackall Wacky Jigheads. If the fish are suspended I will shake it all the way to the bottom, then rip it up and repeat. On docks I always fish the ends first with the suspending/shaking all the way to the bottom. After I fish the ends of the dock, I throw it to the back post, let it hit bottom and start shaking it by the post. Then I drag it slowly to the next post and shake it there, then the next post and so on.

  20. Yeah, after he knocked Rashad down he threw a lot of punches trying to finish it. Unfortunately most of those shots were either clean misses or just barely grazing Rashad from what I could tell. If he could've landed a couple solid shots while he was down, he'd probably still be laying on the mat right now.
  21. Rashad did it. Unanimous decision over Rampage. Pretty uneventful fight, each landed a couple of good hard shots and Rashad did a lot of leaning on and hanging onto Rampage. Rashad did take him down hard a couple times though. I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping to see the fight end abruptly, no matter who won. Oh well, Rashad fights Shogun for the title now. Back to the drawing board for Rampage. Anybody see Duffy beat on Russow for 2 1/2 rounds and then pretty much the first punch Russow lands in the whole fight knocks Duffy out cold? ;D That was crazy. And Melvin Guillard dropped a guy with a knee to the stomach. Dude was down instantly.
  22. I see plenty of tin boats in the tournaments around here. There was a guy in a tin boat with a 60 hp in an open tournament with us last month. We talked to him after the tournament and found out that he went all the way to the lower end and once arriving there, had his limit in 20 minutes. Just as a reference, from where we blasted and where he went, it takes me 26 -27 minutes running wide open with a 250. It took him longer to get there and longer to get back but he won the tournament. He practiced in that creek prior to the tournament via a ramp in that creek and he knew where he was going no matter what kind of boat he had. He did his homework and took a lot of people's money. In a tin boat.
