  1. You cant take it with ya Glenn, you might as well go buy some tackle. Buy Keri some too...you know...while you're at it.
  2. Yeah, I cant believe my boy BJ didnt do better this time. It looked like he just wasnt into being there and he looked sluggish from the start. Frankie's constant movement has got to be irritating for his opponents, but for him it's very effective. I am in shock that BJ didnt do more to put himself in a better position to at least score some points. It was as if he was scared to take Frankie down. When has BJ ever been afraid to take anybody down? I bet Maynard will take him down.... People are dogging Maia but I like watching his fights. I like the tactical part of the ground game and the battles within. Anybody can stand up and swing, not everybody has the skills to compete effectively on the ground. I'd much rather see a submission than a knockout anytime.
  3. You know it. Davis wont be seeing anything to his right anytime soon. Diaz wins by submission Maynard wins by decision Maia wins by decision Couture by submission (round 1)
  4. Dang straight. Falcon Cara's are excellent rods for the money and you can get them with full cork handle or split grip, micro guides or regular size guides. Plenty of options...they have something for everybody.
  5. Floating docks provide shade and fish do use them but I think they prefer docks with posts most times. The posts gather algae which brings in the smaller fish, which are eaten by larger fish and so on, plus the posts are something the fish can relate to as well as creating an ambush point. Floating docks can be difficult to fish, especially big wide floaters. If the fish are hanging up tight to the dock in the middle, you'll never get a bait to them. I will always throw something at floaters, just to see if anything runs out or even pokes it's head out to get a look. One good bait for floaters is the Jackall Cover Craw. Rig it up backwards and it will float away from you and right up under the dock. The deeper the dock, the further it will go under it. Another thing you can do is tune two crankbaits. One to run right, the other to run left. It's good to throw two different depth cranks until you figure out what depth the fish are using. The tuned cranks will pick a few fish out from under floating docks but it's a pain in the a.s.s to keep switching rods every 2-3 minutes. ;D
  6. The Supreme (regular one) is what I've been using for a couple years now. I love them. The drag is butter smooth, no line twists, casts a mile and they're really light for spinning reels which is what I had been waiting on for a long time. I was skeptical when I got the first one, I guess because it was so light...I didnt know if it could handle the job. Boy, was I wrong. So wrong I had to buy a couple more. The new XT's you linked first are nice and slightly lighter than the regular magnesium Supreme's. I may have to try one before I buy any of the Revo spinning reels. ;D
  7. I'm still in shock from the first BJ / Frankie fight. I think BJ really underestimated Frankie's 'game' and it cost him the belt. I dont see that happening again. BJ is the better fighter....and we'll see that proven Saturday night. I cant see Toney doing much with Randy once they lock together. Florian vs. Maynard may be the fight of the night. I wouldnt mind seeing Maynard win it but I've got a feeling Florian will end up winning. If Maynard can slam Florian a couple times, that may change my mind. If that doesnt happen, I see Florian controlling the ground game and 'out-pointing' Maynard on the cards.
  8. Oh come on WRB. I have to read repeat threads on the same topics over and over and over. Can you cut me some slack just this one time? :-[
  9. I own probably 150 DD22's and maybe 10 DD14's. I just dont throw the 14's for some reason. If I'm fishing deeper than 10', I always grab a 22. Always.
  10. If anybody's wondering what a kicker fish looks like....here's one. ;D Story and pics from Bassmaster.com http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/bigBass/news/story?page=b_BigBass_Shimotahira_20100826
  11. It's definitely taken its toll on me. Reduced hours means less $$$, which means less gas, which means less trips to the lake. I still go, just not as frequent as usual. I'm not fortunate enough to have ponds to fish but I have been on the river wading a few times this summer. The bass werent the biggest but there was plenty of 'em. ;D
  12. Looks like they've spotted a UFO ;D Good stuff T Bird!

  15. Is that a tongue in cheek response or for serious ? I've heard he's actually a fairly knowledgeable fisherman (forget about the MotoLure for now) Yeah, I was absolutely kidding about ol Chuck. My real answer would be any of the Lindner clan.

When I first started fishing the local clubs (without boat) I had to fish with all kinds of different people. I found that most guys werent real keen on listening to other ideas and most had a great sounding plan of attack. There were certain guys that I knew we'd catch fish and others it was either feast or famine. I think most guys who wont listen to other ideas get stuck fishing what the fish should be biting or where they think they should be and simply will not abandon that mindset long enough to find out the real deal. But more often than not, being inflexible and hardheaded like that bit them in the butt. I can tell you this. If you draw me and my places dont work out in 3 or 4 hours, we will be visiting your spots.
  17. Back to your corners fellas. It's over.
  18. Well, it's going to be hard for Boise St. to get in the title game with one loss just because they're Boise St. The good news is they'll be losing their first game so losing early is better than losing late. VIRGINIA TECH ALL THE WAY!!! Gobble...gobble. What a war cry. Speaking of crying, Miami thought they had something for VT last year....then reality slapped them in the face, like 31-7. I think the Blacksburg newspaper read something like 'Hurricanes reduced to weak tropical storms'. I thought that headline summed it up perfectly.
  19. Well, it's going to be hard for Boise St. to get in the title game with one loss just because they're Boise St. The good news is they'll be losing their first game so losing early is better than losing late. VIRGINIA TECH ALL THE WAY!!! I hope your coach doesn't whine to the refs about the blocking this year when GT beats you. Again. Come on Chris, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. GT just happened to find one last year. But, since you want to bring up past events, VT is 4-2 against GT since 2000, so..... Obviously, if Frank Beamer was whining at all, ever, GT must have been doing something that the refs just flat out refused to call. Beamer is not one to whine just because his team may be losing. But since you're so confident with your 'Again' statement, lets make it interesting. Your pick of a Lucky Craft bait against my pick of a Lucky Craft bait? November 4th. You in? 'Again' is a big statement seeing as how GT has never beaten VT 2 times in a row. VT though, has beaten GT 2 in a row, two different times. Hmmm....
  20. If I could get that money, I'd throw my money away.
  21. LOL. No more spam on the boards Jake
