What is the best Fuji reel seat on the market right now
I have big ol' hands and the ACS seat just feels completely wrong. My vote is for the ECS.

Powell vs Dobyns....???
I am a Powell user. I love mine (704C, 766). I have fished the Dobyns Savvy and they do seem to balance a little better (especially the 7' MH) and look really great. The actual performance differences between the Powell and the Savvy are pretty minimal as far as I could tell. I don't think the Powell rods are crazily unbalanced and they definitely balance out with the correct reel. I don't feel like I am ever fighting either of my Powell's. It may all come down to your aesthetic tastes. Powell offers a minimalist rod while the Dobyns Savvy rods implement a flashier design. As far as the actions of the Powell, I prefer those extra fast actions for all of my contact bait fishing. It seems to make the rod a lot more responsive between feeling the bite and driving the hook home. They are both really great buys for their price point and I don't think you will be disappointed by either rod.

Crankin' the ledges
Man, I gotta get down that way sometime soon. Ledge fishing just sounds so awesome. Awesome fish, CJ.

How often do you double up on one lure?
I agree with Dave. Never.

whats your favorite spinnerbait brand?
Revenge makes an awesome spinnerbait. I really like War Eagle more than anything else. I think the last time this poll was done, Strike King got the most votes.

Working an Ika ?
I have caught all of my Ika fish by letting it fall to the bottom on slack line. Most of the time, this is where the strike occurs. If not, I drag the bait back to me pretty slowly pausing every so often for varying lengths of time.

What the....How do you...
Same here. It really is an awesome gift and comes in handy so much while fishing.

What does your name (Handle) mean?
My name is Tommy and I am a big ol' boy.

Brand Loyalty...Good or Bad?
I don't necessarily think brand loyalty is something that you can define with "good" or "bad". The only time I have a problem with those who are brand loyal is when they use their brand to slam other brands. I really enjoy trying new rods and reels. I think there are a ton of great products out there from various manufacturers and its really hard for me to be loyal to just one brand. If one particular brand really works for you or anyone else then that is fine too.

That's bizarre and awesome at the same time!

Show off your Stuff
Raul and The Natural need to post some pics and this thread will be complete...until after Christmas. Edit* Roadwarrior, I wouldn't mind seeing some of your gear, either.

Pro Qualifier Rod
I have owned two of the 6'6" medium casting rods. They are actually really nice sticks for the money when on sale. They have nice components and are built pretty well for a budget rod. They are pretty light and sensitive. They are what I learned to worm fish with and they served me well.

Bomber Long A question
Borders is a really nice store and has a ton of stuff so hopefully they have that bait. Gives you a reason to go check it out, anyhow. I haven't been to Yatesville in a while. We may not get to start fishing it again until next year. If you have a hard time finding one, I will check my Wal-Mart here and see if they have anything.

Bomber Long A question
My fishing buddy and I have caught several bass out of Yatesville this March using this bait. You may be able to find it at Wal-Mart. That's where I got mine. I would say it is worth trying.

Here I am again. Headed that way though.

What they fail to tell you about cranking
I got this page bookmarked. I suck at cranking and I want to improve in 2010. Thanks Chris!!!

Vendetta Rods
It sounds like I am just gonna have to go get my hands on one of these. This and the Bucoo are the only budget rods that have interested me at all really. I look forward to handling one of these.

Vendetta Rods
Sounds like an awesome C-Rig or flipping rod. Does it have lots of backbone?

Wright and McGill Skeet Reese rods.
Tin that's hilarious.

power pro 16 strand line .....
Does the line ever just fall out? Or is it pretty fail safe?
-
power pro 16 strand line .....
That's amazing. How well does the whole knot-less thing really work though?

Vendetta Rods
Maybe I have missed it, but does anyone know how many guides these rods have?

Penn vs Sanchez
Count me as another one for BJ by RNC. Not sure which round yet. If Diego comes out doing that reckless, swinging for the fences garbage, BJ might get the (T)KO before he gets the opportunity to choke him out.

Would it be a waste to have 2 same rods, different ratio reels??
Nah. I have the following: Powell 704C - Pflueger Patriarch 6.4:1 - 15lb. P-line Fluoroclear. Powell 704C - Pflueger Patriarch 6.4:1 - 15lb. P-Line Fluoroclear. I use these combos for almost everything except cranking and they serve my needs really well.
