St. Croix Premier
I have the 6' Medium Power fast action rod. It is an alright rod for the money. I have caught a lot of big fish on that stick and it handled them all nicely. It is a really nice rod for skipping senkos. It also has pretty decent sensitivity. I know some people on here have had a problem with the tip inserts falling out of their Premiers but I haven't experienced that in the 2+ years I have owned mine. Maybe someone who has used a few of the lower priced rods from other manufacturers can chime in and give you a good comparison. There may be better options out there for close to the same amount of cash. Good luck.

Those of you with the G.Loomis CBR843C...
That is the kind of answer I was looking for. I want to get into cranking more and I own a lot of Rapala DT-10s, Bomber BD6s and so on. Thanks again for the input guys.

Jigs...Tap Tap?
I had a really hard time with jig fishing until I started using lighter jigs. I usually alternate between 1/4 and 3/8 oz jigs. You may want to use a lighter bait. It should help you out with your medium power rod.

Those of you with the G.Loomis CBR843C...
Thanks for your input. I am looking for a general purpose cranking rod. Maybe I will be better suited with a medium heavy.

Help settle a bet.
Yep. I think bass have a pretty short memory. I was fishing Lake Erie with my friend and his dad a couple summers ago when one of them hooked a decent smallmouth on a tube. He got it right up beside the boat and was about to swing it in when it jumped off. It stayed just under the surface of the water so I decided to drop my tube (exact same brand and color as his) in front of its face. The bass crushed it and I ended up catching it.

Hook Sets
I love those Texas rig and Jig hooksets. I have had dreams where I feel the bite and then wake myself up when jerking. Scares the crap out of my woman too.

Those of you with the G.Loomis CBR843C...
In which type of cranking do you feel this rod excels? What are your favorite hard baits to throw on this? I have a chance to own one of these for a great price and I would like some input from those who use this rod. Thanks!

Dobyns Savvy vs Champion
I had a chance to fish Big Rick's 7'H Savvy this weekend. I was fishing various Texas rigged baits and I was extremely impressed with the rod. It is light, balances really well and its pretty dang sensitive too. The most impressive aspect of these rods is that they are the budget offerings from Dobyns. I feel like he could have easily stuck a 200 dollar tag on these things.

Does anybody else find themselves throwing soft plastics more often than hardbaits?
I have a lot more faith in soft plastics. I haven't quite got around to becoming an adept crankbait fisherman even though it is something that I have been wanting to dedicate more time to in the last couple of years. I am going to try to hit it pretty hard this fall.

What in the world has happened to KVD this year????
It sure would be something if KVD was able to steal that AOY away from Skeet this year.

New PC Build
Good lord, man!!! I am envious. Are you gaming, running any recording software (obvious guitar player), or did you just want something beastly because you could? How does she run Bass Resource?

Lexus Supercar
It's a neat looking car but it just don't have the same appeal as other cars in that price range. 350K can get you a whole lot of sexiness and you don't even have to be "cool" if you got the cash. If I had 350K to spend and I had my heart set on a Toyota, I would just purchase a ~1998 Supra and drop about a ton of money in it. Then I would take the rest of the money and pay off my student loans and maybe buy a BassCat. I would probably also take my woman out somewhere nice and upscale like Burger King.

That is just a ridiculously obese white bass. Good luck on the replica.

Someone on here post this?
Haha. I love how they aren't even concerned with pictures of the woman...just the boat. Good find.

For you facebook fans...
That is seriously one of my favorite websites ever. I don't know how many times I have laughed until I cried over some of the stuff on there. Unintentional humor is so much win.
