Frogs In Chilly Water
What is the coldest water you've caught bass on a frog? Anyone use them during the spawn when water's in the 60's? I'm thinking this is when the frog bite really starts is during the spawn and post spawn

Bass In A Beaver Pond
This may be out on a limb, but back in the woods on a trail the beavers have built dams and it has created a pond. It's been there for decades, and it's large, a few acres. Would it be possible that bass have made their way into it, naturally or from someone putting them in? Would it be worth it to throw a lure around in? Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated

Who Has Gone Night Fishing In Spring?
Guys, I have a few ponds and lakes that I can only fish at night. I know in the summer the bass can be active at night and the bite can be pretty good. Although, I dont want to wait until summer to fish these places... Would fishing at night in the spring be productive? With lower water temperatures and the different stages of spawn taking place, I didnt know if it would still be productive. Any thoughts would be great!

Ice Out! But Cold Waters...help!
Hi guys, In PA the ice is melting and the snow is stopping. Im so anxious to start catching some bass but... I dont have much confidence fishing 40 degree water, and I dont want to ruin my excitement by going out and getting skunked. I would be fishing ponds and small lakes by foot mostly and ive been thinking slow plastics, jerkbaits, and slow crankbaits. Any help and info for a confidence boost would be awesome!

Top Water Frogs
Frogs are incredible BIG bass catching from late spring all the way through fall. They can be fished in all types of cover and are very effective in low light conditions. Lots of fun too!

Hey guys, I'm looking for a bass club around Pittsburgh PA? Any help would be great!- Pond Scenario-Why don't the bass get any bigger?
I fish a lot of ponds and I feel that the crappie population is definitely affecting the bass. I see 3 main things here. 1. Although bass are superior to crappie when they feed (bass are more dominant), the crappie still pose as competition for food. 2. This being said, the crappie compete enough with the bass in feeding to cause a lack in growth, yet not enough to cause the bass to starve or have a lack of food. 3. Lastly, in almost every pond I fish, there always seems to be a couple bass that are abnormally larger than the other ones. I don't know the reason for this, but it holds true in 4 out of the 5 ponds I fish. When all the bass seem to be in the 1 or 2 pound range, a couple push the scales at 5 pounds. I don't have a specific reason for this, but my guess would be genetically those couple bass are bigger and they were able to get over the size "hump" where they got big enough to feed on the crappie while the rest of the bass are yet too small. In short, use big bass lures and techiques to find these couple giants, because once in a blue moon you will see them or catch them. And a fix for this pond, harvest some crappie and even go as far as stocking bluegill and a crawfish/frog package. P.S- The pond definitely has the characteristics to grow giant bass as far as depth, cover, size, and life(organisms). So my bet is they are in there, so keep fishing for them, I garuntee they are there. And if you are positive they aren't, you will be able to grow them with a few small changes. Good luck - Got my first of 2011...thanks to a BR brother!!!!!
