  1. I'd probably throw a green pumpkin sapphire menace rage craw on it.
  2. MF makes a sinking plastic which gets close with no salt. A little salt added to it and softener and it gets real close. Also better coloration due to the less salt. I dont pour them anymore but the sinking plastic is the way to go. I use to pour a lot of them for the wife and I. I did a lot of testing in my aquarium before I even fished one of them.
  3. Nicely done. Congrats!
  4. IMO there is no reason to throw it out and count to 20. If your not swimming the jig just wait until the jig hits bottom this time of year. Pause for a second or two, then start the retrieve. I drag or use small hops. The biggest deal is fish structure. The easiest way to catch bass on a jig is fishing lay downs or rocky points this time of year. You can almost always catch fish on lay downs. Even shallow. They may not be big fish but will be fish and build confidence in the jig. Also when fishing a log or lay down cast both sides of it. Just because you fish the right side doesn't mean the fish will swim from the left side and eat the jig. Give each log at least 2 casts. I'd go more, but at least 2.
  5. I switched over to a 7'11" Hvy for 3/4-1 oz footballs. I was using a 7'4" heavy.
  6. I'd have to go Black blue jig and green pumpkin purple/gold rage menace on a shaky head. Cranks I'd go with something black back with chart sides.
  7. For the jigs you got from me. Bluegill or smokey for the bloody shad and Green Pumpkin Sapphire for the Bluegill. Those match very well.
  8. few of my rods came with them and I bought some locally also. I keep them in the jacket as long as I am not using them. It saves a ton of time untangling them. If the rod is in the rod holder they have a jacket and a reel cover unless I'm fishing a tournament.
  9. I use the Rage Menace 99.9 % of the time anymore.
  10. I can tell you from experience how sharp their teeth are!! OUCH!! Cool video. Bent those suckers right out.
  11. Thank you guys!!!! I'll download WU also and see how that one does also.
  12. Thats pretty much the same thing I'm running into. I'll Try Accuweather. Thanks!!
  13. I've been having problems with my weather app on my phone and wondering what you all use. Right now I have TWC( The Weather Channel) and I'm looking for a new one that has better accuracy and reliability. So what do you all use?
  14. Awesome!! Congrats on the nice fish!!
  15. Good catch!! That looks like an awesome froggin area.
  16. There is no 100% lure that I have ever found but there are jigs with more of a bullet head style that come through better then say a football, round ball just about any other jig. The bullet shaped heads work the best but are not 100% weedless. The punch jig and pegged T rig are also 2 great alternatives when fishing thick weeds but will sometimes still pull weeds. I've even had frogs pull weeds. The best technique I've found to go along with the bullet/grass/punch jig is to pop/snap it once you start pulling grass. This will normally knock off the grass. You dont have to give it a strong snap just a quick one. Slime, Ehh not much you can do with that. Popping it may pull most of it off.
  17. I dont cut any of but time to time I will fish a jig that I havent glued in a weed guard.
  18. I'd throw a brush jig in 3/8 oz
  19. I've shot spitfires for years. No complaints. They have worked on every deer I've shot with them.
  20. I have yet to fish a glass rod I liked. I prefer graphite with the low profile guides.
  21. Thank you!!! Good luck fishing. Post up some reports.
