  1. BPS and TW The cranks I wanted were 50 cents cheaper @ BPS last week........Tungsten weights were 1$ to 1.50 cheaper @ at TW
  2. Jealous of those with vegetation! Only docks here.....very little vegetation. I have to go to Gaston to find hydrilla and mil foil and every time I am there I see the little boat spraying trying to kill it!
  3. Agreed on the old wiggle warts and poes old thundersticks the older Mann's 15+ I do not know nor can I figure out what the difference is but I catch 3 to 1 on the older as opposed to the newer ones. >
  4. Currently I only use GYCB Senko's. Raul, please do not add a element of doubt to one of my few confidence baits. Next time things go wrong with my senko bite I will remember this post! Just kidding
  5. This has addressed before I am sure. I am about to take the tungsten plunge to see. Do these high $$$ weights really make a difference? What would you say the greatest advantages are? Thanks
  6. It is probably a matter of preference. My only case in point is that one day I was on a row of docks and catching them pretty good. I ran out of my personal favorite (a crime I know) green pumpkin. The next closest thing I had was watermellon seed. Catch rate dropped by 75%. For me here green pumpkin 75% of the time black and blue 25%. I maybe cutting myself short with just those 2 colors.....but it works well for me.
  7. It is funny this thread comes out now. As a general rule, I do not disclose many of my spots. I just told a friend this the other day. I have, or so I thought 3 spots that I thought were top secret! 2 of the spots I have NEVER seen anyone on 1 spot it has been at least 2 years since I have seen a boat on it. Last Saturday night there were boats on all 3. There are no secret spots! If you have a decent depth finder, know what your looking for and spend enough time on the water.......it will be found!
  8. Nice fish........ I think that is my father in law on the ramp.......
  9. I had to think on this for a bit but I went Senko. Which made it a perfect 50-50 split at the time.
  10. Only when fun fishing. Me and my brother very rarely get a chance to fish together. When we do we will throw a couple in the cooler. My brother is a very bad influence! Besides that, the fish police are all over SML!
  11. Looks like a solid 4 pounder from here.....and when did you get on the senko bandwagon? Oh, nevermind, I know. bah!!!!! camera phone pic......they are misleading!! I will call her a solid 5 ;D JW and those senko's.......lizard died.....had to move on!
  12. <~~~~~~~~~this Spring on a 5 inch green pumpkin senko. I did not weigh her.....best guess 4.75-5lbs?
  13. X2 x3 and use a 5/0 if the bait is thicker.Owner offset shank worm hooks get the job done well. X4 and currently ditching gammys for owners
  14. agree.... hook up always
  15. Could be. I'm diggin' that new avatar Tin!
  16. I always carry a jump pack with me. I run my black light off of it. I missed a weigh in once when the crankin battery was dead. I have optima batteries now :::knocking on wood::: I believe it is dern near impossible to kill them! But I still carry that jump pack for the long night tourneys.
  17. I agree he is a whiner. Finishing runner up in 3 or 2 (?) classics has to be crushing. At work we have to attend several rah rah classes each year. One of mine a couple years back was not making excuses. The thing lasted a couple hours but the quick breakdown of the whole thing was people who constantly make excuses or whine were basicly trying to explain or offer reasons for there own mediocrity. By offering excuses or blaming something else they were rationalizing thier own shortcomings. Anyway alot of what I heard in that speech made alot of sense. Especially when it comes to fishing. I broke this rule the other night and tried to blame hooks. Now 2 days removed I realize I did something stupid that cost me 3 good fish. My first reaction was to blame the hooks and not except my errors but now I know I have nobody to blame but myself. >
  18. I always stand.....But with SML's constant boat traffic and huge wakes you are forced to "lean" against the butt seat alot. If it were not for the constant beating you take on that lake I would not even have the butt seat.
  19. [ I believe that the next record Florida LMB will be caught in some pond or lake that goes unnoticed by the masses.
  20. My guess is tree to tree fiddy as well.
  21. I must be missing it. What happend to personal preference? I happen to like Revo's....I have a bud (no names mentioned) who despises them. Revo's are my second favorite reel. My favorite reel.....a Quantum Accurist PT! I have 10-12 of them and I love them! I have 2 strapped to Loomis's. The rod is the most important part and I have yet to have a Accurist fail on me. 1 of my Accurists is 10 years old. OK, let me have it. Am I missing the boat totally or what? This thing of high end reel to match a high end rod sounds like my wife trying to get her purse to match her shoes!
  22. I didnt even know you owned any jigs....did you just buy some trailers? ;D I just bought the trailers. BUT......do you remember the other night when I helped you put in......and you left me floating around out there on your rig for a half hour because you had to park 2 miles away? I kind of "borrowed" a couple of your jigs. Nice selection....thanks bud!
  23. man everyone beat me to the jokes. And a weight......I have to get better typing skills!
