  1. Just curious: Were you using Trim Spa? All kidding aside......thats still a nice fish. Did you get a weight? I would have to fold it in half to get her in my live well.
  2. I have to say full pond as well. Last year SML dropped quite a bit and it was very difficult to launch. Some ramps were closed all together. I was concerned about tearing something up. Once you got in it was great for finding cover. Only fished Buggs Island once when it was up in the bush's (01 or 02 I believe) Incredible fishing!
  3. Great Post! Love the Slider Head part!
  4. I agree, you are living it! Congrats!
  5. tx rigged plastic
  6. Dock Master Smith Mtn is for you. Only about 1.2 million docks on SML. 25% of them nicer than my house!
  7. Champlain.....Falcon.....Clear
  8. My partner tied on a little George. I laughed. we had 4 fish and needed a 5th. In 10 minutes he landed a 3.5 lber. We took second just 2 oz from a win. I witnessed him on numerous occasions catch fish on that crazy thing. It is especially good when the fish start schooling in the fall. I now have couple but I have not had the same luck. I attribute this to his lil George being a 70's model and mine being brand new :-/ note the quote
  9. I am not a member but i have heard nothing but bad stories about this from others.
  10. No breaks here. Night time is the right time during the heat and humidity. Most all of our tourneys are night tourneys June, July and August. Not only does this provide some relief from the heat. It takes away 243435097832 water skiers and 9897879878768765876599 jet skiers that you would have to endure during the day. SML general rule: Never go to SML on weekends from Memorial day to Labor day. You can venture out there on a weekend during this time but dont be surprised if you do not get a filling or 2 knocked out! Weekdays during this period is really not too bad.
  11. 10 inch power worm. t-riged on a 4/0 or 5/0 offset round bend
  12. favorite = worming but nothing really beats top water
  13. I have caught a fish on the first cast twice that I can remember. Both times the rest of the evening went so-so. 90% of my trips end up being just so-so.
  14. I have a couple things I have a-lot of confidence in. Typicaly this is what I end up fishing with 90% of the time. Sometimes I force the issue. If I get a chance to fun fish (which is rare) I will just take the one bait and use it all day until I develop confidence in it. It takes quite a bit of time but I have developed several new confidence baits and techniques.
  15. also, FBL: Copper wire? People are getting electricuted, falling thru roofs and going to jail trying to steal this stuff. Are you trying to add drowning to the list? ;D
  16. far too noisy under the cover of darkness. Might I reccomend............
  17. Looks like a real good trip to me..... On SML there are many days I have fished and never had that size, # or quality. I would gladly fish thru the weather for a day like that!
  18. I will agree with both column A and B Also, IMO......sight is very important. Watch your line! I guess I am a finesse guy. Lite line, soft plastics and as little weight as I can get by with. Most of the time I am setting the hook with the slightest line tick on the fall! I am very interested in everyones opinion on this finger on the line thing. Every since I was little I have done it this way. I have tried hard the last couple years to break this habit but still every once in awhile catch myself doing it again.
  19. SML - 5 miles Claytor - 1 hr Moomaw- 1.5 hrs Leesville (******!) - 1.75 hrs > Buggs Island 2.5 hrs and the best of the best Gaston 3 hrs
  20. I have a hat that has been in my boat for years. It was just an old backup hat to cover my bald head. It has a perfectly blended smell of gas and oil. I figured this out after the hat I was wearing blew off my head one evening. Gnats cannot stand that hat! When they are bad.....I get my gas and oil hat. Of course in a couple hours I will have a headache from it.....but I will be gnat free.
