Barometric Pressure
It was Bill Murphy's book that prompted me to consider barometric pressure along with moon phases. I do not plan fishing trips around these things but they do affect the way fish position and their activity. They are just pieces to a bigger puzzle. JMO

Spro BBZ-1. Which one?
It depends on which one you are talking about. I have fished all of these baits with good success and these are my go to colors and sink rates. If I had to pick just one out of all of them I would go with the 8in floater in silver fish. I have consistently caught really good quality fish on this bait. If I had to pick one from each size, this is what I would choose. In the 8in model I would go with the floater in silver fish. In the 6 in model I would go with the slow sink in the Sexy Lavender shad. In the 4in model I would go with a fast sink in Sexy Lavender Shad.
- Hope I grow up just like him

Aussie visiting San Fran/Reno and wants to catch a Bass... Advice?
The delta or clearlake are both good options. You might want to try and hit the stripers on the delta that time of year. Here are some more well accomplished guides. http://www.russnyders.com/ http://www.coochsfishing.com/ http://calbassguide.com/

What is going on in the world?
Sorry to hear another tragic story. I have had a few that hit close to home also. From the reading I have done on the subject. I have come to believe that prescription drugs are a large part of the increase in suicides. If you google the subject you will find a laundry list of studies, incidents and claims. Some drugs have suicidal tendencies listed as a potential side effect on the insert. With out writing a book on the subject here is just one mainstream article. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,414862,00.html

Any other MLM or Network Marketing guys?
Team leadership development looks like its monavie. I personally know several people that make six figure incomes in monavie. When you become a distributor in a MLM company its just as it sounds. Your a distributor of product or services. You are your own business. No different than the guy who drives the Little Debbies truck. You have to sell the product or you do not get paid. Most do not require you to pre-purchase product. So if you invest in product and do not move it you will have a loss. The reality is 50% of all businesses will fail in the first year and 95% will fail in 5 years. Most business people are the cause of their own demise. http://www.businessknowhow.com/startup/business-failure.htm

Any other MLM or Network Marketing guys?
Network marketing is a great way to make money. It is basically sales. In stead of the standard distrabution companies and main stream marketing it is placed in the hands of the individual. Most companies do not require you to stock product any more. I have been in sales most of my working life and maybe 10 percent of people that get into it are worth a dam. It is not for everyone. It is hard work that has a systematic process. You can have the personality of a pet rock but if are willing to talk to people, have a decent product and follow the sales process you can do well even if its Amway. Like any other job some pay better than others. The greatest obstacles are the fear of talking to people and lack of self motivation. You have to be able to deal with rejection and ridicule. People are going to tell you how its not going to work and some will be flat out rude. You can not let it get to you. Stay focused on the big picture. You have to work it like a job. No one is going to be standing over you telling you to get back to work. Setting goals and having a busyness plan are critical. You need to have an idea how many people you have to contact to get someone to sign up. From there you can structure your plan.

lures for clear water river in the south?
The lures don't really change much. Lightsout pretty much nailed it. You need to determine how the fish are relating to the current. There is a lot of information out there on the subject. You may want to look at trout fishing books. Bass relate the same way in the current breaks and seems. In my experience smallmouth tend to be in faster moving water where Black bass will opt for the slower moving water. In a river the food generally pushed by the current to the fish so they do not tend to roam very far and are in predictable locations. If you are fishing a tidal system the fish will reposition with the tide fluctuation.

Jackall Giron Swimbaits
I would pick the tylure kicker over the giron. I do not own a the kicker but I have seen it in a demo tank and it will be a part of my arsenal by next spring. He makes a great bed bait also that rests nose down. I would already own them but due to purchasing a new calcutta, several 3:16 baits, a rago and some baitsmiths I had to curb my spending a little.

bass hitting bluegills
Bill Siemantle just designed a rod for throwing smaller swimbaits and frogs. Its the Lamiglas Excel Casting Rod 7'3" Med Hvy XL735C. It has a price point of about $100.

JSJ Dirty Bird
As for the cost its all in how you look at it. What do spend on baits like senko's that only last a few fish? On a good day you can blow through several bags easy. This particular bait floats and would be pretty hard to lose (I do not know how it would hold up to toothy critters) using the right gear. Taking in to consideration the amount of potential use you will get out of a bait puts things in to perspective and can help justify the cost. There was a post a while back called some thing like what would you do to catch a DD. People that posted said they would do crazy and outlandish things yet people shy away a the price tags on quality big baits. Most of the big baits I have purchased over the last few years I still have. The right rod, reel, line, a good bait knocker and retying regularly are critical. You will lose some. That's just the way it is. I have donated way more in senko's, jigs and other conventional tackle over the same time period. With that said upwards of 70% of the all fish I have caught over 5lbs have come on big baits.

Strange experience
The smaller baits catch fish but what you will see with 8in + baits will blow your mind.

JSJ Dirty Bird
I have never fished the dirty bird but JSJ makes high quality baits. They are all hand made and painted. Nothing is skimped on. Watch the demo this is not just like a buzz bait.

Why Imitate Shad so Much in the Fall?
I don't disagree at all that matching the hatch is over emphasised. However I do feel that bass key in on certain baits and feed heavily on them at times. I think both statements are correct. One day matching the hatch is critical, where the next it may not be.

Why Imitate Shad so Much in the Fall?
I think I have to disagree. A good example are trout plants. The first plant of the year and the bass are few. As the plants become more consistent the bass start to key in on the trout with regularity. Over time there can be virtual feeding frenzies. The bass get to a point where the noise from the truck backing up is like a dinner bell and they know trout are at the top of the menu. So if bass can respond to the consistency and specific sounds related to trout plants, then why not other prey in natural occurrences?

Why Imitate Shad so Much in the Fall?
I have found this statement to not always be true. Some times it seems the fish are not actively feeding and the answer is to be totally different. People have recently brought up threads about hot pink lures and such. In my experience these are the times those applications can shine.

Dropshot in different seasons
I almost never fish with out tossing out a dropshot at least once. It is in my opinion one of the most effective fish catching techniques out there.

Spro BBZ-1 4" Shad
I am a much bigger fan of the 6in bait. With that said the 4in bait has its place. As far as casting well... It soars through the air when it does not cartwheel. I takes some practice to prevent this. A deep cranking rod works well. It allows the bait to load the rod up when making a cast, aiding in a tail first flight. most people try to throw this bait on a rod that is to heavy. It is similar to casting a deep little N. Once you figure out the sweet spot it will fly.

Pro Troll e-chip lures
I have not noticed any real difference yet when bass fishing. However the reason I tried it in the first place was I did see a huge difference ( over the last 2 years ) when sturgeon fishing. Our catch ratio was like 4 to 1 with the e-chip. So far I have only tried it on faster moving baits. It may work better on more subtle baits when the bite has shut down. I am going to really put it to the test this winter when the fish have lock jaw and see what happens.

When to break out the swimbaits??
It is my belief big swimbaits (I consider anything 8in or larger big) can be used year round any where in the country. I do not care where you live. If you were to eliminate all other fish species and bass were the only fish in the lake. A big bass will still eat another bass. There is no discrimination and if they think they can choke it down they will try. As far as matching the hatch it can be critical at times but a other times it will have no bearing. It is not uncommon to catch fish on trout style swimbaits in lakes that have no trout. One of biggest limitations keeping people from throwing big baits is that they are intimidated by the size of the bait and the feeling that they always have to match the hatch.

Barometric Pressure
I do not believe its a myth. It has an effect on fish activity. If you do not believe I encourage you to track it over the next year. The barometric pressure should not determine whether or not you go fishing but should help you determine a logical starting point. For example, If there is a good chance that fish activity will be up then you may want to start the day with a faster moving bait. Nothing is concrete and so called rules are continually broken. Fishing is like gambling. You can go out there blind and you may get lucky or you can play the probabilities and increase your chances.
