  1. Never tried the Aruku but heard they are top notch. Do they make a one knocker like the Xcalibur or Clackin Rap? Be worth a try.
  2. I like Strike Kings Pure Poison. Works great, excellent quality and decent price.
  3. Been murdering 'em on this bait the last few weeks but have also lost a few to pike/musky, including 1 color that is no longer made. Anyway, Academy has them for $5.99 with free shipping on orders of $39.00 or more. Just loaded up. Just thought I'd put this out there for any other fans.
  4. I like the Veritas 7' med. winch for most of my cranking. For the 10XD you might want to go with the heavy. $79.00 new on ebay.
  5. You must never have tried a Rage Craw. The new DB craw looks awesome too. The Menace is a good option on smaller presentations and the Lobster on bigger ones. 99% of the time I hang a Rage Craw on the back. Everyone has their favorites and there probably is no wrong answer here. Good luck!
  6. Patience can pay off. I seem to find better deals in the winter. Less interest in fishing?
  7. Was it in a box or a display model? Alot of times people remove and/or steal the knobs. Maybe it was just the shim that fell out. Easy fix. If you are close to where you bought it, why not just exchange it? Happened to me once and store was not going to restock reel for 3-4 weeks, so I emailed cust. serv. and got part in 4 days.
  8. Have it shipped to a store near you if there is one. Or check ebay. If you get lucky you can get a new one for $130 - $150. I got a like new one for $100. Works perfectly.
  9. X2 VMC not a bad option. http://www.***.com/VMC_Inline_1X_Treble_Hook/descpage-VMCILT.html If you like regular shank hooks, these are not a bad option for cranks. I use these and the gammy short shank magic eye in-line hooks.
  10. Been wanting to pull the trigger on a Lews BB1HZ for cranking.
  11. It's a plastic spoon with a paddle wheel in the middle. Use it over any grass or through pads. moss or gunk will stop the paddle from spinning. One of 3 baits I caught a fish on the first cast I made with it. I've got a few but don't use them much anymore. Pretty sure they aren't made by Norman anymore.

R.W. is correct. Red wears off pretty quickly revealing what I think are inferior hooks. Anodizing will only stick to certain metals. All the red hooks I have seen wear down are gold underneath. Not too strong and don't seem to hold a sharp point too long. If they give you confidence, by all means use them.
  13. I have a Minn Kota Maxxum with the Maximizer. If I put the speed over 30 it makes a noticeable humming noise. I took the prop off and it does get better but still noticeable. Anyone else experience this. I'm bringing it in under warranty when I get a chance but was curious if anyone else has experienced this?
  14. My Senko setup is a 7.1:1 STX spooled with 30 lb PowerPro with a 12 lb flouro leader. I think it casts farther than spinning. I use spinning for dropshotting and skipping under docks/boats.
  15. Agreed. My crankin setup is a 7' Veritas Winch Medium with an STX and I love it. Most of my other rods are 7' Veritas M or MH. I get them from Ebay for $79.00 shipped new with receipt and warranty. Can't beat that price. Light, sensitive rods. Picked up a Mojo Bass and put it right back down. Just didn't feel right. I do have a few Premiers I like.
  16. Smoke 100. Even 150 is only 6.8 Oz.
  17. I have Gen 1Revo STX's and Curado 200E7's. STX's seem to cast farther and retreive smoother and have a smoother drag so they do get more use. Both pretty top notch though.
  18. WTG Big-O!!
  19. WTG Guys!!!!!!!!!!! Great time. Great fish. Who could ask for more.
  20. Is the 3.5 a new bait we don't know about? Caught a ton on the 1.5. Bandit and Excalibur S. B. baits are great too. I like the smaller size of the 1.5.
  21. Nice Dwight. Mine will come through the ice.
  22. Have 5 regular and just got a Winch for cranking. Love these rods and can't beat the price. Like hooligan said, they do seem 1 power heavier than listed. The 7' med is my favorite. Light as a feather and very sensitive. Haven't tried spinning yet but Christmas is coming.
  23. If you plan on going anywhere near weeds, go with MK. If not, go with MK.
  24. My first action was to call county pest control. They recommended a few things but said there was nothing they knew of that was 100%. Fox urine was supposed to be the most reliable repellant but that ain't happening. Next step is mounting a 50 cal. on the dock. This only seems to happen in the fall when the varmints are looking for a place to winter. A rat rap baited with apple pieces will be going in the splashwell on each side of the motor and I got the bosses blessing to get a lift. Cranking it up out of the water will keep the buggers out and keep the hull clean as well.
  25. Can't help. My 2008 Frontier W/4 liter V6 is rated to tow over 6000 lbs and handles my rig with ease.
