Ratio Of 5Lb To 6Lb Smallies
I can honestly say that in the 4 days I was there, out of the 50 or so fish I caught, (I lost track) maybe 5 were under 4-4.5 lbs. My PB of 6-4 came on a Berkley Flicker Shad 2 minutes into the day on my birthday. I ended up with best 5 that went over 26 lb. I actually got dissappointed reeling one up and seeing it wasn't a 5. Phenomenal fishery to say the least. Maybe fall is less numbers and better avg. size and spring is better numbers and mixed size? Only Dwight could confirm this. Or maybe I need to come out in the spring and assist in the research. (hint hint)

Keeping Muskrats Out Of My Boat.
Yep, it's insured. Only positive is it happened at the end of the season. I wanted a Maxxum trolling motor anyway. Slone, your video doesn't work. Could be me as I'm on the wifes I-Pad. Loud and clear on the lead. This is now personal. Remember Caddyshack with the gopher? You can bet I'll be on the dock at dusk with air rifle in hand. Hope to send as many of them to meet their maker as possible. Still haven't found any prevention for the though.

Keeping Muskrats Out Of My Boat.
I like #2 better. I have a feeling this was because the water was so low. Boat is usually in 4-5 feet of water but was in about 1 foot at the end of the year. I did notice more than usual swimming around later in the year. Usually you see them near dusk. Cover was fine till he chewed a little hole in it. I will be investing in a high powered air gun or get a silencer for my 22. He started a war but I will prevail!

Best Swimbait?
Agree with RW on the Shadalicious. 4.5" works great up here. Keitech fat is a great bait but not a hollowbody.

Bluegill Squarebill
Neon Bluegill, Natural Bream and Natural Pumpkinseed are killer colors in this bait. I think the last 2 are BPS exclusive but they are awesome.

Keeping Muskrats Out Of My Boat.
I keep my boat in the water during the open water season. When I went to take it out for the last time, I uncovered it and noticed weeds and pieces of carpeting sticking out from the cover. After uncovering the boat I saw the bast@@d jump into the water. I tried to get him and wring his neck but he got away. The damage was devastating. Large sections of the carpeting were chewed up and nearly every wire he could get at was chewed on. The trolling motor is ruined an both transducer cables were chewed through. This all happened in one week as I was there the week prior. Question is how do you keep these things from getting in the boat. He got in under the cover at the transom. I did some research and it does not appear anything repels them, not mothballs as I know some will recommend. Anyone had this problem and find a solution. Thank God this is covered by ins.

Hook Sharpening - Whats The Point?
Agree on just about all points. I don't buy Trokar either. I also don't buy Eagle Claw as I have had them break. Seem to be flimsier than Gammie or Owner or Mustad.

Hook Sharpening - Whats The Point?
X2. Just curioues RW. What hooks cannot be sharpened? Owners do have a cutting point but there is a solid section from the point back to it that can be sharpened. My motto is if it doesn't stick in my thumbnail, it doesn't see the water. Got one so sharp once it actually went through the nail. Now all I do is make sure it penetrates it with minimum pressure.

Offset Vs Ewg Hooks
X2. I do bend the point end up slightly on the G-Locks though. I remember Big-O lecturing us at KY Lake a couple years ago about this very topic. Ever since then, I've been conscious of checking the alignment of the point to the eye. The G-Locks are pretty darn close to in line so I bend the point up slightly and have had no problems. 'Course I set the hook so hard I've yanked 3 pounders out of the water.

How To Sharpen Fish Hooks?
Sooner or later all hooks will get dull, whether from hitting underwater stuff or whatever. I use a diemakers flat India stone. and touch up the points until they stick in my thumbnail with little effort. I sharpen the hook in a triangular pattern and run the stone at 90 degrees to the hook. A file takes off too much material IMO and running the stone or file down towards the point will only push a burr down to the point. Learned through many years of machine shop experience. Sharpening hooks has been brought up before and is an individual choice. I do it as I know my hooks are sharp and also it gives me something to do when bored.

A New Senko Question
Slow is relevant. Senkos fall faster than all but maybe some hand poured salt laden stick baits. Dingers, Ochos, Tiki Sticks all fall slower than Senkos. All last longer too but Senkos have the best wiggle IMO.
