  1. You had to go ahead and ruin my odds. Ahh what the heck. I never win anything anyway.
  2. Try Glenns method. I use the weedguard strands off old retired jigs.
  3. I'm pretty sure if she went with you she'd outfish you Mike.
  4. Check your email. Slone- Love your avatar. You're probably right. Wouldn't want Peg in the boat anyway. I'm thirsty. I have to pee. I'm bored. What time is Oprah on. I forgot my BonBons. I can hear it now.
  5. Wrap some lead solder around the hook shank. Cheap and easy to do.
  6. You know what they say Roger- Happy wife = happy life!
  7. Glenn- I always knew Keri was a better angler than you. Look at that hawg compared to the little guy in you're contest picture. Seriously you are one lucky guy. My wife's been in my boat 5 times tops in 25 years.
  8. Most likely depends on type of weeds. Up here in the natural lakes there are several types of weeds an alot of muck on them too. Once this crap gets caught between the blade of a chatterbait and the line tie it's not going anywhere. A spinnerbait sheds this kind of crap with a good yank or two alot of times. I don't see where vibration plays a part, at least where I'm usually fishing. There are some weeds you aren't getting either through clean.
  9. I double the knot through the linetie before tying any knot I use with braid. Don't recall any slipping but have had biteoffs.
  10. Agree with J.F. No memory for any braid that I know of. Take a peek at the line as you engage the reel, especially a spinning reel. Nip any knots in the bud.
  11. Not sure about chatterbaits coming through vegetation better. Might be type of vegetation. Was out Sunday and weeds are coming up. Found a few spots where chatterbait didn't get fouled but when fishing the weeds (which is where I caught all my fish) the chatterbait would get caught in weeds and muck every cast unless I burned it back and kept it on top. Didn't get any bites doing that. Spinnerbait did much better. Northern Ill. natural lake. Caught most fish on Shadalicious swimbait anyway.
  12. Bass don't throw baits. We throw baits in an attempt to catch them.
  13. Didn't throw a spinnerbait for a few years. It seemed everybody and their brothers was throwing them. I always went in a different direction. Couple years ago started throwing a double Colorado blade and did well and have been doing well ever since. I seem to get more bites on the double Colorado. Fished behind guys using Willow and picked up fish. Call me old school but double Colorado for me when not using chatterbait.
  14. Does anyone use this? I see East Loon in Illinois was added and although not shown on the list, I am wondering if West Loon is included as the lakes are connected.
  15. Bought about 30 of them and One Knockers at Dick's last fall on clearance for about a buck each. Good for a while.
  16. Can't post what I usually say A-Jay or I might get booted. *#%@*!!!!!!
  17. Veritas 2.0. Didn't like the feel of the Mojo.
  18. Veritas 2.0. Abu Cust Service is the best. Bought a rod online and one guide looked like it was slightly off. I sent in a couple pix and 4 days later had a new rod at my door.

XR50 OneKnockers have been killer for me. A little different sound. Not overpriced either.

Every once and a while you can find them at Overstock Bait and Tackle.
  21. I use them and like them. I will only buy them from the store where I can feel the softness. There seems to be a difference in consistency. I won't buy them online. If you get a bag of soft ones they work pretty darn good and are a great value. Hold up to a few fish too.
  22. Beat me to the Carrot Sticks and Skeets. I also think the white Duckett microguide rods are pretty hideous looking. To each his own indeed. The proof is definitely in the pudding as they say.
  23. Good reason. They flat out work! If you need finesse go with the baby. if fish are finicky, slow down. Action is a function of retrieve speed. If you want subtle, slow down. No reason not to use them.
