  1. "I know it's slimy, but just grab it tight so it can't wriggle"
  2. Most red lines claim that the color is filtered out after 12 feet, so what about above 12 feet, seems like it would stand out more then blend in.
  3. Koi do usually grow faster and larger then goldfish, but I have scene both of them swimming around some small ponds in Va.
  4. Has anyone ever used any of the red lines? Have you found them better then green lines? What brands, why?
  5. One of my fly buddies uses spiderwire and secures a small circle hook to some of his big poppers to act as a stinger or trailer hook.
  6. They were def. in force around the Fredericksburg area, I suspect the rain from last weekend will cause some high muddy water for a while making fishing a bit difficult. But with the removal of the dam in Fredericksburg they should be found further up the river as time goes by.
  7. I caught a break in the weather last Sunday and had almost three hours of fishing rain free and before the river really started to rise and muddy up. I was right above the fall line on the Fredericksburg side using an ultra light and a chartreuse jig head / grub. The fish seemed to want it reeled rather fast to get any hits but once I figured it out I probably ended up catching about 18 fish. One of them was 19 inches and a heck of a lot of fun to catch. Here's some pictures.. O and for anyone that's been shad fishing a lot, you know how you always have to catch at lest one random other species while your out.. On my second cast I tail hooked a catfish.. talk about a fight.
  8. It's a small jighead w/ a gold hook and a creme worm. Works wonders for finicky trout if you don't want to use live bait.
  9. Stopped on my way home yesterday and hooked up with this 'bow about 30 minutes before dark with a Shakespeare ultra light and 4lb test. It was a battle.
  10. I'll be returning to Fredericksburg Va in late April. I have an 18' Nitro and I'd say I'm an experienced angler. I'm looking for anyone who enjoys a day on the water and would be interested in splitting the gas bill on some trips to Lake Anna or the Potomac, or any other destination. Please email me if you're interested.
