Sam --> One fish Anna I know exactly what you mean! I've never had any real luck on that lake, but still make a few trips there a year. Guess yesterday was just our day to be on the water. drmnbig --> The water temps held around 53 degrees. The water is stained and a little milky. And Thanks To Everyone Else!

Finally got a nice sunny somewhat warmer day and talked the dad into going fishing. About 2 hrs into the day this big girl Crushed a slow rolling spinnerbait. 23" a little over 7lbs ;D We ended up with 5 more fish (3 mine, 2 dad's) all 2lbs and under. Had to cut the day short because the dad's back started hurting, but I tell ya I don't know what made me happier catching the fish or being on the water with the pops. Heck of a good day.

I'll be in and out of Fredericksburg through out the spring/summer. I like to fish the Potomac (Aquia creek, Pohick Bay), and Anna on the big boat. Hunting Run on the small boat, and wade for smallmouth on the upper Rappahannock. As well as the occasional trip up to Shenandoah for some native brookies on the fly rod.

I'll be visiting the Keys from March 14th - the 20th. I'm going to be Kayaking a lot around Bahia Honda Park (I Think). I have intentions of bringing my 8wt fly rod and a lot of salfwater flies with me. I'm looking to hook up with anything crusing the flats or mangroves. Crossing my fingers for a hungry bonefish. This will be my fist trip to the keys with a fly rod and I'm looking for any information / hints / tips / advice that could be thrown my way.

If you get thick defined weedlines and your in a boat, throwing a buzz bait and running it along the edges between the weeds and deeper water can be a very effective way to find active fish. Once you catch one cover the area with a jig or soft plastic to catch all his buddies.

At the bass expo in Richmond Va I got to see the Strike King red eye lipless crank demonstrated in the big bass tank. I was impressed at how it would flutter straight down on slack line. No nose dive or laying on it's side, just a nice little shimmy.

Watching the guys at Daves create a spinnerbait with ease right in front of you was impressive to watch.

I'm looking for a paint that produces a true mirror - like chrome finish like you find on a blue/chrome bandit crankbait. Anyone know where to find such a thing without spending an arm and a leg? Thanks.

Has anyone fished Curtis Lake lately? If so what patterns where working and what conditions were you fishing? I try to make a trip there once or twice a year, might get my chance sometime this week.

O.. and for anybody that doesn't get the earlier reference to Asian Carp and the Dangers of exotic species... Imagine opening up your 250hp mercury and getting wacked in the face by a 15lb+ fish... Not gonna be a good day...
