  1. Good Luck ~ and let the Lake Havasu research begin . . . . A-Jay
  2. I agree with Tom here. And I'll tell you that I take it a step further. Though I don't fish a ton of rock or rip rap, when I am faced with it, this rig has proven pretty successful. The important part of it is the weighted swim bait hook instead of a nose weighted Texas rig; helps keep the bait gliding along rather than nose diving into cracks and snagging. The rig from line to hook consists of a stopper, a Cobra Black Head or a Paycheck Baits Head Case with the spring removed (I painted the white one), your choice of shirt and whatever weighted swim bait hook you prefer. These are all Falcon Lures Bait-Jerk EWG Hooks. Think of it as a punch rig with a swim bait hook instead of a front mounted bullet weight. The plastics pictured (top to bottom) are a Gene Larew Biffle Bug. a Rage Lobster, two Rage Eeliminators. The plastic you choose can be almost anything you’d normally use as a moving bait trailer: even a swim bait like a Skinny Dipper. Makes a decent search bait, great for soft bottom and very rock (Rip Rap) areas and is good from the bank as well. One could even rig it with a very light weighted hook (or no weight) and drag it on top. A-Jay
  3. My first response here was off the top of my head. So I just check it out (hands on) and this is the deal for me. The 4/0 Owner will work OK but I do prefer a hook with more of a bite - that's my way of saying that when rigged there is plenty of space between the bottom of the bait and the hook. When throwing these baits, the 5/0 is my choice. Another very good option here is a 5/0 Trokar EWG Mag Worm hook. This one has a little longer shank (rides a bit further back in the bait) and a little less of a bite. It sit nicely in the bait and when it come to the hook up - that hook is like a GAFF ! Finally, these are all obviously weightless options. When needed I use the Gamakatsu Superline EWG Weighted Hook & the Falcon Lures Bait-Jerk Superline Hook in the sizes noted above. Both are the NON-Screw lock type - I hate those things as they really seem to rip up the nose of the baits unnecessarily. Hope this helps. A-Jay
  4. I use an Owner Wide Gap Plus, I think it's 5/0 . . . A-Jay
  5. Sounds like you need to spend more time at the lake during the later part of the season. You'll learn what the seasonal patterns for your area better that way. A-Jay
  6. I have not used them but they rate high (#1) on Tire rack. A-Jay http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=ORAT
  7. Don't beat yourself up, Neutral & Negative moods are more common in cool and especially cold water. If you hadn't been able to see them, you would have never known they were there. But you did, so knowing where to start when you're able to get back to them is a benefit. Hopefully they'll be in a more favorable mood. A-Jay
  8. The SK bait shined early season for me. By using a slower reel (cranking) I was able to work the bait at a speed that was good for me & the bass. A-Jay
  9. Sweet recap of a most memorable season ~ Congrats. Plenty of work went into both. Thanks for sharing it. A-Jay

  14. No Sir - However, I was sampling the inaugural run of baits and quickly exhausted my initial supply. Perhaps the subsequent production was improved. Either way, went another way and haven't looked back. A-Jay
  15. Nicely done J - I was duly surprised and impressed this summer by the Pinnacle Producer LTE myself. And even more so after seeing it "from the inside". Thanks A-Jay
  16. We're thinking of you both. A-Jay
  17. I don't know who that guy is referring to . . . . . . But I threw that 6th Sense Crush Flat X75 squarebill bait all season. It worked for me from the opener with w/t temps in the mid 40's through the rest of season and right back to the cooler water again. Super Bait. A-Jay
  18. I Got Me a Zebco .. . . . . . Sometimes at the end of a long season, I get a little Wacky. This is one of those times. A-Jay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icYqGaEqmDY
  19. Yup - Very nice - a guy could get himself in a world of financial trouble in that place . . . . A-Jay

Lake Effect Snow is a way of life. 2-4" today, 3-5" tonight and 5-8" tomorrow. Breaking out & rigging up the dog sleds for a mid-night run tonight. That first one in the dark is always a Rush . . . . . A-Jay
