Sorry to hear that slonezp. As uncomfortable as that may be, we already had snow three days ago. I'm hoping it melts some so I can finish cleaning up the darn leaves ! A-Jay
  2. North Woods Rhyme It’s winter time in Michigan and the gentle breezes blow, 70 miles an hour and 35 below Oh, how I love Michgan When the snow’s up to your butt You take a breath of winter air And your nose gets frozen shut. Yes, the weather here is wonderful So I guess I’ll hang around I could never leave this place, Cause I'm frozen to the ground . . . . A-Jay

~ X2 ~ This is a Game Changer. Nocturnal Operations will also improve one's casting/ presentation accuracy quite a bit. When you can place your bait in tight spots in very limited to no light conditions, day light angling gets much easier. A-Jay

  10. Steve ~ We have both been Ruined I tell ya - Ruined. Dink dropping 5 pound smallmouth is a sin and you know it - but that's what happens . . . . Now come south with us and dink drop some 7 pound green bass . . . . A-Jay

  14. For me, Hook set direction, be it right side, left side, up or something in between, is usually determined by a few different factors which include but are not limited to: the type of tackle, bait/lure, the direction of the take/strike in relation to the structure and/or cover & the position of the boat. Preferring to set "into" the bass but it's often impossible to know exactly how the bite came on. But that's at least half the fun of it. Additionally, the proper gear and sharp hooks are more of a concern for me than the direction of the rod on the hook set. A-Jay

  16. I try to set ASAP after detection - win some, lose some. The reality is, often times by the time an angler "Feels" the take - the fish has already had the bait for some time. And we won't even mention how many strikes, followed by rapid rejection, that go completely undetected. A-Jay
  17. I have had what can best be described as a very high rate of success with Mustad. A-Jay
  18. I have two of the spinning rods and I like them. A couple of the casting rods are being offered my Fenwick & they are on sale. A-Jay http://www.fenwickfishing.com/Fenwick%C2%AE-Elite-Tech%E2%84%A2-Smallmouth/1285580,default,pd.html#specifications

  21. SWEET ~ ! I'll say this Maine, you started this magic season you're having with a Bang, you've carried that momentum right through the warmer months and it looks like you're ending it the same way. Really nice bass man. Congrats A-Jay
