GSP vs The Natural Born Killer Who ya Going with ? I'm pulling for Carlos but I think The Champ with prevail. A-Jay
  2. The hub is used to hold / mount a skirt on. Once a skirt is mounted on the hub, the hub is placed between a pegged bullet weight and the Texas Rigged plastic of your choice. The resulting rig is a very weedless and a super versatile bait. I'm a huge fan. A-Jay
  3. Here ya go - Just add the shirt of your choice A-Jay
  4. This thread represents 4 years of Bronze Beauty - Sadly some of the photo's on the initial / early pages are no longer visible - So we'll just have to post them up again - A-Jay
  5. Cool collection ~ I have some older gear and occasionally I break one out put it into action. I get great pleasure fishing it and even more catching a few decent fish on it. It doesn't take long throwing those older glass rods, super slow gear ratio casting reels and mono line to be reminded of just how far the gear of today has come. Still effective but the bass have more of a fighting chance and somehow they seem to know it. It's like taking a walk down memory lane. A-Jay
  6. I'm not a Swimbait Guru by any means - I have an Okuma Guide Series Big Bait Casting Rod (GS-C-761H) matched with the new Calcutta 300D - Sweet. This stick gets fairly high reviews from those who have more experience and is very reasonably priced. This Rod seems to be a Great all around big bait rod with the power you need to throw heavy lures and the action that will allow you to fish lighter baits as well. A-Jay

  9. The first thing BR members should know, is that Dwight is a total Stickler when it comes to weighting fish. He uses 2 different scales - a certified Boga grip and a very high speed digital model (sorry I don't remember the brand name) My point here is - these are not "guesstimates" but are about as accurate a weight as one can get while on the water. OK - So I went back through my notes from the week I spent on Lake Erie this past April. And for that week, I'd have to agree with Dwight's perspective. Here's the numbers from that 7 days of smb fishing - all on jerkbaits ~ you can draw your own conclusion. Each day we fished between 9:30am – 6:30pm. Each day we had between 15-25 fish. Most days every 5th smb was over 5lbs. For two days every 4th smb was over 5lbs. The 5th day, I took a 5 lb 9 oz smb – a new PB. The 6th day, Dwight’s first fish was a 6 lb 1 oz smb – not a PB for Dwight. The last day, my first fish was a 6lb 4oz smb – Definitely a New PB ! A-Jay
  10. Some mind boggling numbers right there Dwight; and all in 7 Weeks ~ I'm betting there are more that a few guides from all over, who would be very happy to be able to advertise those statistics. Thanks to you, I can claim a few from each catagory. A-Jay

  13. Nice work Jeff. Your hand placed "Structure" looks like it's desperately needed on that fairly feature-less area of the lake. A-Jay
  14. Very Cool ~ The Gator did not seem interested in being a BR video Star . . . A-Jay
  15. Yes - that's how it all started. Old Flippin Stick - 80 lb braid and a 60 lb mono leader - it's a great way to exercise them without killing me. But they learned fairly quickly that the "Prey" travels in a straight line. And once caught, it's destroyed in seconds and there is no pulling it away from them with the rod - I will say that my drag is put to the test - if you think a decent bass pulls - try a 120 lb sled dog . . . 17. You got me as well. But I'm going to help you out ~ “The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive veterans of early wars were treated and appreciated by our nation.” -George Washington. So there is a positive spin to this thread. A-Jay
  18. WOW ! That was Out -Standing ! Little bit of an Adrenalin rush right there. They didn't teach that one in the Academy. A-Jay
