I tried the treble hook trailer a few times attempting to get smb that were slashing at the bait but not really eating it. This did not improve the hook ups much if at all. Also fishing mostly open water or sparse cover, there was no need to snip off a hook point. I did see a tip where guys reverse the direction of the single trailer hook to acclimate the point down in an attempt to improve hook ups from fish striking the bait from below. (which is mostly my case). I have yet to try it but will implement it this year and see what happens. Definitely not a weedless method however. Good Luck A-Jay- What's Wrong With Quantum?
"My Brand is better than Your Brand" threads are perhaps my least favorite topics on the entire BR fishing forum. Rarely if ever, do these threads add anything constructive to what is otherwise such an excellent site. I can't even call them entertaining as they routinely cause disharmony. Questions regarding certain brands / models are routinely answered with adequate information provided by members who have experience using the equipment. Posts offering the opportunity to debate brand quality, performance and dependability, elicit responses that appear defensive, misrepresented and hard to interpret; completely different from so many of the high quality responses elsewhere on the forum. Opinions regarding tackle inferiority are a waste of time. It doesn’t matter. This site is loaded with photos of amazing fish landed with every brand imaginable, How is that possible . . . . . . . . . . . . A-Jay- Rod Tapers.....

That's Very nice - I wish Michigan would do that. Some years there's ice right up to a week before the opener of catch & release ( Last Saturday in April). Other years (last Year) the ice is gonzo first week of April. Currently, it's a complete frozen white out here, so none of this is even applicable. A-Jay- Top 4 Shapes

Hey Dwight, do I get partial points for being a dependable net man ? A-Jay- Leader For Stopping Bite Offs From Pike?
Consider American Fishing wire's Surflon Micro Supreme - Ties very easily and has a thin diameter for it's rated strength. Comes in a mello Camo color that I prefer. Some of the lakes I fish, the bass / pike ratio is 50/50 so depending on the time of year and technique, bite offs are a reality. Last season I was losing jigs on deep grass lines every trip. Finally broke down and started to use this and that put an end to the lost baits. Where Pike are prevalent, I use it for just about every method including, Frogs, spinnerbaits, Texas rigged Anything, Carolina rigs, lipless baits if ripping through weeds and as mentioned jigs. My largest pike the past two seasons came on jigs fished deep for bass in timber. Both inhaled the little 1/2 jig and without the wire I may not have landed then. I use the 20 and 26lb stuff and don't believe that it keeps bass off at all. I'm still getting all the bass bites I was without the wire, I'm just not feeding baits to the pike anymore. It's a little pricey but it's cheaper than replacing baits all day. Good Luck A-Jay http://www.americanfishingwire.com/smsupreme.asp- 15:50
There ya go - good for you. So now - consider this point in your training as your base line. (Not the pinnacle of your abilities) This is the point that you will never allow yourself to drop below - ever. You are now on the right track to a life time of good health for which there are many benefits and they are All Priceless. And to keep you motivated - (I think you mentioned this is a previous post), The initial run test to be eligible for Ranger training is a pass/fail sub 40 minute 5 miles. And that's just to get into the program . . . . . . . Good Job Man. A-Jay - Quantum Superlite Baitcasting Rod
