  1. Yup - I believe Jones showed some respect for Machida by starting out slow as not to get caught with something early. But after Machida punched Jones in the squash a few times Jones went to a more offensive posture and the fight was over. I do agree that Jones relative inexperience showed itself a bit in this one. And if there is a fighter out there who can get to Jones's legs without getting killed, a challenger might have a somewhat better chance of at least evening the playing field a bit. It's scarey to think about, but Jones could get even better if he could fight a guy that could match up better against him, but is there Anyone who can ? A-Jay

  7. The closer this fight gets - the more I agree with this. I've been looking back at Machida's more recent bouts. I think he may actually be seriously killed in this fight. A-Jay

  12. Should be a an entertaining event with interesting and competitive fights all over the fight card. But Jones is a freak and until he fights someone that can get to Jones's legs and slow down his attack (perhaps put him more on the defensive) while avoiding all the lethal weapons the Champ possesses, I don't see the belt changing hands. Very Nice ~ That happens here occasionally in the spring and fall. Sometimes I'll throw a smaller jerkbait and get some decent trout. Were you throwing baits that targeted bass and catching the trout as by catch or were you tossing trout type baits ? And what lures were they ? A-Jay
  14. Yes Sir ~ that Blue Craw will be added to the arsenal. Blue seems to be a good sunny day color for me. A-Jay

  19. Welcome to BR Paul. Cool video. I have to say though - a fall crankbait bite in 58 degree water, at least in this neck of the woods, is Always a PRE - Turnover period. No doubt it's a great time to fish as the bass are eager to chase down the bait and hammer it. The Turnover here is characterized by colder dirty water and the fish are rarely as charged up about eating especially a fast moving horizontal presentation. I really have to force feed them with something low and slow to get them to bite at all. Those surely are some hefty smallies either way. A-Jay

  22. The wind finally let up so I hit the lake for what would most likely be the dreaded Last Trip. Water temps were high 30's. First stop was a "hole" with some wood in 35 fow. Hummingbird revealed that there were several fish on it. Turned out to be brown fatties. First few casts they gobbled up the swimbait but then shut off. This was the coldest water I've caught bass with a swimbait. But, it was over just as quickly as it started. I managed to stay unfrozed until dark and took home a few "Eater" sized walleyes for diner. It's been a decent season. I hope this winter isn't too long. A-Jay
  23. Yea, me too and btw, adding a scent to that bait would be redundant. A-Jay
