  1. I was referring to the last game as The Super Bowl. I AM a Pats Fan and that was such a magic season. But that ONE Loss - was B R U T A L. A-Jay
  2. No doubt, the Packers look very strong. If they're gonna blow a game, fans have to hope it's just not the Last One. A-Jay

  5. What ? Eddie B was the OP. Did you bump your head or do you have the Marty Feldman eyes as well ? Although I'd be very proud to call this my catch - it's not . A-Jay

  11. Both my wife and I said the same thing - What's up with that ! A-Jay
  12. Ah, Yea the challenges of shooting video with a fish on while you're alone . . . Some day I'm going conquer that battle. You sir, get a very high score there for acquiring some quality footage while fighting the fish. Not a easy task and not one for the faint of heart. Where do you hide the third arm required for that feat? And was an Acme K.O. Wobbler pinned in that beautiful buck's face perhaps ? A-Jay
  13. Really nice J, Hard to call a creel like that a Failure of any kind. btw - what's your smoking wood of choice ? A-Jay
  14. Welcome to BR Mike. You are going to love this site. That's a nice Line-sider there. I'm an old Jetty Critter myself. Crawled many a rock pile from Maine down to Jersey. Those days are done and now it's all Sweet water for me. A-Jay btw - this post might get moved to the Introductions Forum.

I have not fished the Buckeye jig with the movable head. Sounds like an interesting concept. I've fished this "Scooter Jig" a bit. http://fishaccent.com/Scooter_Jigs.html This Model is offered with different style heads and with the Texas rigged plastic comes through cover well. You can easily change skirts to make any combination desired. I am not that excited about the quality of the hook or the design used to attach it to the head. I would prefer a little beefier hook. Additionally, there is no way to replace it when needed as it is permanently attached to the head. I have taken a few fish with it. This bait is what gave me the inspiration to start fishing a light version of a punch rig when jig fishing almost exclusively. A-Jay
  18. That's classic ! Perhaps an appropriate response to that could be this . . . . Don't do Anything in class all semester; don't hand in any work, basically do not contribute or participate at all. Then at the end of the semester hand him / her a single sheet of paper that reads: " I am a hard knocks student. I have figured out how these features work and scored a perfect grade in your class. I will answer no questions". A-Jay
  19. Nice Bass ! Congrats ~ A-Jay
  20. When my casts start to bounce, which may be in a few weeks. A-Jay
  21. Yup - it's a little money up front. But so far it's going on 5 seasons. I average 150 days on the water a year. That about $1.50 a Day for a Major convenience. Additionally, with a little TLC, the unit should last 10 anyway. So now I'm shelling out 3 whole quarters a trip. Besides I've got No room in the back of my truck for the canoe - it's slam packed with tackle. A-Jay
  22. This ^^^^ http://www.castlecraft.com/sut-250-s.htm I've used one for several years - it's just so darn convenient - to load launch and load. A-Jay
  23. Don't ask me why I know this But . . . . The matrix is the living, growing tissue beneath the hard nail bed. It's what supplies the blood and nutrients to the nail. If it's damaged then the nail will take longer to grow out or in some cases not at all, but that's pretty rare. A severe crushing blow to the nail would be an example of a nail not being able to grow back. Most nails will grow back just fine when only a nail is lost. It just takes some time and Keep an Eye out for Infections. A-Jay
  24. Well said and matches my situation very closely. One exception would be that I will slow roll a swim bait on a jighead as a horizontal bait. It has proved to be so very versatile covering different speeds and water columns. A-Jay
  25. As mentioned this came up a while ago. The general consensus was the fish adapt and I agree. Much of the water I fish is in the vicinity of Camp Grayling. It's the largest National Guard training facility in the U.S., due to its many ranges and ample maneuver areas. It was founded in 1913 for military training, and now spans 147,000 acres in Crawford, Kalkaska and Otsego counties. Much of that acreage is accessible to the public for hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and other recreational uses when military training is not taking place. http://grayling-mi.com/attractions/historical-sites-2/camp-grayling-military-installation During the summer months. the maneuvers / gunnery training conducted here literally rock the earth for miles. I live just over 30 minutes north of the base and when they fire off "the Big Guns" the window in my house shake, So you can imagine what the lakes / fish feel in and around the base. I have not noticed the fishing being better or worse during times when the gunnery range is in operation. I have however considered wearing hearing protection. A-Jay
